Yes, straight bolt-on.
Yes, they are quite expensive.

This is appropriate.

What's the point of gls if you took out all the luxury features? lol

I found this little gem behind the death row yesterday. I went back today and took pictures and videos of it. I checked the vin, and its a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am LE. Here are the pics.

What kind of engine does it have? I gonna guess a 2.5L 4Cyl but correct me if I'm wrong.

[ChaosweaveR] 11-01-2014 07:25 PM

Wow...I'm surprised it's not rotted away. It's the Iron Duke, they're slow as balls but those engines are tough.

Pontiac_guy99 11-01-2014 07:44 PM

Yeah nice right? I noticed it when I was checking out a supra next to it. I wonder if the owner will sell it.... lol

Old iron doesn't rot to hell on the high plains. Cars can sit in a field for thirty years and still remain solid.

That Iron Duke was a funny engine; conceived as (I think) basically half a Pontiac 301, it powered the new H body cars of the late 70s before eventually finding its way under the hood of A, F, M, N, P, S, W and X bodies as well as several AMC products. It remains in widespread use in Grumman LLVs (those goofy mail trucks). It gained the moniker Tech4 when it grew fuel injection. It was as bulletproof - and about as much fun as - a boat anchor other than occasionally chewing up the weird fiber timing gear.

Pontiac_guy99 11-01-2014 08:18 PM

Plastic Indian - I am not sure if you can really see in the picture, but the engine cover says 4Tech on it. At least its fuel injected haha! lol so from what i'm gathering here it sounds like they're slow.

gtsouth 11-01-2014 09:41 PM

For those of you who have the replica saleen wheels. What center caps do I get that fit the wheels. Thank you.

Just get a sticker to go over the ones it comes with.

Indeed, but everyone referred to them as Tech fours. Maybe dyslexic we are all?

Me and my brother took a look closer at it again today. We found that it has a 3(?) speed automatic. I wish it was a manual. Oh well. My brother actually sat in it - he said the rubber interior pieces were sticky. Did not want to mess with those until I can actually have it.

I almost nabbed a hubcap from it - there are two beat up ones on the back wheels and one in the back seat - I'm guessing the other one is lost. Might take a tape measure up there tomorrow to measure the hubcap size. I think they're 14s
