I don't give a fk. If I could race around in a circle with that adrenaline and rush you have and winning six figures weekly I would do it. Make fun of it all you want, in the end, they're making more then 10 times your salary lol
Get in the car and race that sht and you'll understand why they do it. I can understand a little that its boring to watch but to each their own on that. |

I go to the track sometimes too. No one has ever asked about my trunk mounted battery or lack of a cut off switch. Ever. Half the time they don't even look at my car. I think you'd probably be surprised to find actual voltage drop would be higher than what you are calculating. I'm using some pretty large cable from my battery in the trunk (it's either 0 or 1awg, don't recall which), and when I turn on my ignition sometimes I only see 11.9-12 volts. Should be higher than that, but you also get resistance from every connection and terminal you have to add to the run of wire. Basically, unless you race regularly in a specific class and they tell you that you have to have it... I wouldn't bother with it. These cars aren't that fast or powerful, and it's highly unlikely one would ever get out of control enough to flip it. Not like an 8000hp funny car. Adding all that extra wire and hardware just adds cost, time, and weight. edit: oh yeah.... F**K nascar! That crap is boring as hell to watch and the cars are stupid. Who cares how much money they make. It's nothing but a redneck soap opera. |

So this was my project this weekend. Decided to tackle it at home since I had to let paint/primer dry over night, and I could use my oven to bake the parts.
The chrome on my sparco fuel door was all peeling and flaking off, and I could see a little bit of rust starting under it, so I decided to fix that before it became a problem. Plus the little flap on the filler neck was kinda too far in because of the way I put everything together originally to make it work, and it made it kind of difficult to fill up the car, so I wanted to do something about that. I took it all apart and sanded the rust spots on the sheet metal and the filler tube and hit them with some rust reformer primer, then painted them. I cut about 1/2" off the funnel part that came with the fuel door, and about 1/8" off the stock part with the flap, so it's a little closer to the body now and I won't have to force the fuel nozzle as far in. Chipped off all the chrome that was loose and sanded the whole thing, then primed and painted it. I think it came out pretty good. I just hope it last a good while. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...psa9e1ebda.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps0ad56f05.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps19843f40.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...psef4f2a42.jpg |

I'd have to disagree with that too. There was some pretty exciting racing last year. Heck, they had 7 different winners in the first 7 races. And at the least the cars are technologically advanced and have amazing performance. Not like the dinosaurs in nascar. And going in circles forever is not exciting to watch.

Road course is a circle with some right turns thrown in.

i might add a yellow strip under mine....soley for turn signal though....can barely see my inner LED one since the dam headlight company painted the reflector part black

I think LED or CCFL running lights can look good if done correctly... but these cheapo universal ones people are buying and installing look like crap. They are cheap and they look it, and they take no real fabrication or effort to install.

Added a few new things to the GA such as..... clear corners, SC/T spoiler and some control arms with poly bushings.
