Heck no. I like it way better with the SC/T hood. And it's lighter and runs cooler. Only reason for the stock hood on there is to help it warm up faster in winter and keep the road slush etc out of my engine bay. ;)

Yeah, the clean up and what not helped a bit, but close up you can see they are still all scratched up and discolored. One of them is a tiny bit bent as well (probably some kind of pot hole damage or something). Still balanced out decently ok when I mounted the snow tires.

Honestly, they are 10+ years old and getting pretty beat up. I'm ready for something else. What I'd really like to do is leave the snow tires on them and get new summer wheels/tires next spring. I'll have to see how much money I can save by then though. I'm figuring about $2k for some "not cheap crappy" wheels and performance tires.

Aaron

I have been driving mine in winter for the past few years I would recommend moving your filter inside the engine cause with the right amount of slush and cold may choke it up... I had issues at first and now convert it to a shorty type CAI before winter and back in the summer.

I hate that I always f**k up my front mesh in my front grill cause of the snow/ice... Dam road salt will rust everything it takes me days in the summer to clean all the effect of it...

That's why I bought the filter cover. It sheds water so I'm not worried about slush sticking to it. It's the same thing as the "snowcharger" covers K&N makes for it's snowmobile filters.

I've been driving with the CAI there for years with no problems, and it's not possible to relocate it to the engine bay. No room with the supercharger. ;)

I know they r nothing special but if u ever decide to sell them let me know

TDavis 12-13-2013 11:54 AM

Yeah its one of those things, when you never had the SC/T hood on it looks aggressive then after having it on for a while then you take it off to put the stock one of it looks nice a smooth but then after a while you'll miss the SC/T hood. It's a cycle lol

They don't have white any more, but you can always have them painted any color you want.

Snow storm randomly hit. My car thriving in its natural habitat lol

Also showing the amber LED fogs output in heavy snow. It's pouring snow, dunno if that actually appears in the photos. I'll bet you my life they're yellow, camera always makes it look green, I have no idea why.

Kumhos (Road venturer) that I put on the truck, are BEASTLY!!! we had the sleet (or nowdays, ice pellets) and rain, then to snow, so it's slush under snow, crappy out... the truck acts like it's on dry pavement, absolutely impressed with these things! Don't need no stinking computer starting and stopping for me *ahem sleepy you're a puss ahem* lol

dude at the tire place said he had them on his truck and was amazed how well he got around, i may buy that dude a Christmas present

As strange as it sounds, it actually happens. I took the car on a 300 mile road trip yeterday, and 10 mins out of selby it started blizzarding. Weather said it was clear.

I'll have to agree with Sam on this one they had been calling for freezing rain/rain/snow all week.

What I mean't by that was that it was just raining earlier then it was sleet then full on gigantic flakes of snow and before you know it it was borderline blizzard.

When I hear "snow" I think little flakes here and there not flakes the size of my palm falling like a blizzard. Guess I should of worded it differently, literal faggots.

Damn right you should lol. Here it went from standing snow, to ice, to rain, and now back to snow with unplowed streets. I have graduation in 2 hours and have to pick which will be better in the snow and unplowed roads, the TA or the Civic. Obviously I'm taking the vic, but man I miss having a cummins right now.

TDavis 12-14-2013 08:13 AM

Ta go!

I would do the TA for shts, just leave an hour early.

stop buying shitty winter cars or get better tires. don't even have to be new tires just go to the junkyard and find the best tire with decent tread.

geldartb 12-14-2013 09:10 AM

looks dirtier in person.. was gonna wash it the other day but since it's going to snow tonight i passed on that. swapped the alternator and after that my feet were frozen so that's it..the whole thing probably took like 15 minutes but it is 10*f outside.

People who can't drive rely on ABS and traction control in snow.

I always turned that crap off in my GA.

yeah i was gonna say that..i pulled the abs relay in the 2 beretta's i had..

The car im driving for winter has no abs. No tc. And 10% tread on all tires.

The alero... it doesn't have tc either.

geldartb 12-14-2013 11:27 AM

so you bought a car with shitty tires to drive around for the winter.. best decision ever?

make sure your AAA is paid so you can call them to pull you out of a ditch. i really suggest you buy a set of used tires with some decent tread unless you plan on driving like a bitch because you have shitty tires..

sleepyalero 12-14-2013 12:06 PM

Im borrowing the car. Didnt buy one. So im not gonna waste mt money to put better tires on there car. And this would be the first winter with low tread tires. My 16s has like the same amount of tread and ive gone through snow fine.

I think ill be fine. ;)

geldartb 12-14-2013 12:24 PM

yeah i would buy tires for someone Else's car.. i thought you bought the car.

geldartb 12-14-2013 12:28 PM

and BAM from the same time as the other pic..by tonight the dirty girl will be covered in snow.

the outback in the grill is getting removed but that's gonna wait till it warms up so the plastic clips holding the grill on don't shatter.

sleepyalero 12-14-2013 12:40 PM

Nope. Just using it for winter. :)

Me personally, I'd find the Legacy GT-B grille, JDM tails (they're 50/50 opposed to amber signals, it'll go nicer with the two tone) and paint match the mirrors. Well, that's just appearance wise.

i was actually planning on paint matching the mirrors. got my folding ones off the old legacy. little cold to paint in the garage now so in the springtime. got that paint gun i haven't used yet..

i was gonna get the jdm tails for the old legacy but i didn't want to spend money on mods so modding didn't happen..

I'd say the JDM tails would be worth it, it's the small things that really make a car unique to you. I love the world spec tails on my Galant.

sleepyalero 12-14-2013 02:23 PM

jdm talk on a Pontiac forum.

I haz seen it all
