This. :applause: But hey, that's what happens when you take a cat out and get a crappy exhaust. I'm not even happy with my exhaust right now and I've got the SLP. I think the muffler packing is starting to deteriorate. It's plenty loud, but has too much rattle. Doesn't sound refined at all. I want to change the muffler and tips. |
I'm interested in getting the 2.5" DP from Milzy with the Highflow Magnaflow cat since I hear that stock is a really restrictive part of the exhaust flow but I'm afraid it might ruin the sound of the Borla. I'm very picky with my exhaust notes.
mfuller has the TOG headers with the borla, 2.5" DP, with the highflow cat and he had a video around here somewhere that I can't find. Only vids I can find are ones with a cat delete or mainly a resonator delete which I never plan on doing. |

also, he does take his to the strip, so there was a performance motivation, not just noise motivation. i'm the only idiot here that runs straight pipes just for the sake of noise. |

As for downpipe... I have milzy no cat downpipe. It's very nice. |

GM WOULD HAVE PUT ONE IN FROM THE FACTORY!!! Quote:
Listen to young buck get all uppity now, like his sh!t don't stink and he knows what he's talking about, yet he doesn't even understand the basics of how a cooling system works. Also doesn't understand there is no reason to eliminate cats from a daily driver for some off brand sh!tty headers to fit. But hey man, you brought this on yourself. You forget I've done a lot of research into these topics, I've tried a lot of things, and I've been modding cars since you were about 10 years old. But hey what do I know. You just dumped your grand am to buy a Hyundai that you swore you were gonna keep stock, then proceeded to mod until it went to sh!t (against my advice btw), now you are doing the same thing. Have fun blowing up your perfectly good corvette. |

this comment? lol youre the moron that assumed that no mufflers meant custom hack job.lol. i've got money sir, you dont need to worry about that. im not the one thats in my 30's living at home and without a job to go to school full time. bitch please, i had 2 fvcking jobs and went to school full time. Quote:
please read how thermostats work, just because it starts to open at 160 doenst mean the car is going to run at 160, no matter when your fans come on and what kind of radiator you have. youre not telling me anything i dont know already. the point of the fvcking t stat was so that it wouldnt fvcking run at 215-230. doesnt really ever get to 30* here, so that point is moot. how quickly you forget. old age is a b1tch aint it...did it ever cross your mind that they put in the t stat that they did for emissions reasons? not because it makes the most power? Quote:
|
**** I have not had a t stat in the grand am since I moved to florida, temp gauge reads a steady 195-202 it takes maybe 2 miles to heat up to 180. In these "cold" winter months. And I have the fans set to kick on at 180.

Please learn English. Then tell me what you think "stock cat-back with no mufflers" means. And if you went to school full time, where's your degree? Oh that's right... you were working part time at Michaels and living with your mom, then you moved out into a ****ty apartment working full time at a tire store, and aren't going to school any more. Quote:
God, you don't even listen. Are you that dense? Do you REALLY think you understand more about how a t-stat works than me? Yes, I know when they begin to open and close. I'll repeat it for you in big letters this time... IT DOESN'T MATTER. If you don't have enough cooling capacity and your fans don't kick on that low, it won't get that cold, so it's a stupid mod. If you didn't want it running at 215+ all you had to do was have the computer programmed to kick on the fans at 195-200 where the stock t-stat opens. There are more reasons than one that GM designs their engine to run at a certain temp as well. Emissions is just part of it, and if you knew a focking thing about engines, you'd know that emissions are affected by combustion temps as well as other things which are tied to engine temp. And I know how cold it does and doesn't get in FL. I lived there longer than you. :hay::asshat Quote:
They aren't a reputable brand I've ever heard of like Kooks, LG, etc. Still, it doesn't matter. You are still modding it like a broke 16 year old would, IE with no knowledge, fore thought, or logic. You're gonna be the next zuki of gagt.com. This is why a 25 y.o. shouldn't have a sports car. |

1.did i say went to school here? 2. did i say that i had 2 jobs here? 3. did i say i graduated with a degree? i dont need to explain myself to you and tell you why i quit and why i dont have a degree. 4. ****ty apartment? again, pot meet kettle. not like you lived in a mansion 5. my tire store pays me more than youve ever made i bet. id put money on it 6. i choose not to go to school now. i dont need it ofr what i do, and i dont plan on changing careers.
