Okay big plans for my car within the next month. Wheels, tires, brakes, suspension, new speakers, fog lights, maybe new tail lights and get my passive key less and push button start installed. This is for starters. There will be a few other things here and there. My spoiler is going to get painted as well. Of course I would like to get the SC/T kit and exhaust but that might be next year. Go team red!! lol.

While some final decisions are made and parts are arriving to fix Lana, I decided to take care of the truck. Saw a thread of a guy that took a clay bar to his brand new ram and he got a ton of crap off the truck. So I decided to clay bar the truck and give it a good wax and wash. Here are the end results. Still learning the tricks of the the whole paint care thing. As soon as I parked, the sun came out in force. So obviously, the pictures don't do it justice.

Looks good tip. You cant have nice things without learning to take care of their exteriors
Its easy to learn how tontake care of your paint. And the results are always great.

tipnitty 06-15-2014 05:47 PM

It's far easier when you have a garage especially. Don't know how anyone can live without a garage lol.

sleepyalero 06-15-2014 06:04 PM

Agreed! I love having a garage since im so anal about my car being clean.

Shade2012 06-15-2014 06:43 PM

Fck you guys.

[ChaosweaveR] 06-15-2014 06:43 PM

Found a local shop that specializes with Hondas. Full shop with three lifts as well. I nabbed some red H emblems since I've been wanting a set. $80 for the pair, not bad considering the list prices from Honda. Looked up the part #, both are the rear emblems for the FD2 Civics.

JDM yo

[ChaosweaveR] 06-15-2014 07:00 PM

Can't hide from that. They are JDM emblems, technically. Honda doesn't sell Type R models in the US.

I know, there is a few type R's here around me.

[ChaosweaveR] 06-15-2014 08:40 PM

The stretched tires on that Commodore make me want to punt childen into an inferno.

TDavis 06-15-2014 09:00 PM

90% Complete we ran into a snag with the rear bumper and he couldn't do much since we didn't have the tool to get it off, rear bumper and lip will be put on Wednesday though. Doesn't look bad atm.

Kept the front badge and black molding trim off to see if I want to make the door cladding piece red or match the kit with it and have it black. So ignore the fact that its all still red. I'm leaning more towards all red. And the side is like 1/32" lower then the door cladding, apparently thats how most SC/T kits where so thats that, don't notice until you stare at it for a while though, not to mention since the molding becomes black on the cladding it makes it stand out a little more.

Might get the cladding painted as well, looks off next to the brand new paint, and I would lower it as well.

Looks nice so far. Dont scrape that front lip! Ive noticed on most cars that add a lip like that on a bumper thats the first thing that gets destroyed because of how close to the ground they can be.

IMO you need more black now. The headlights look out of place. Having a mainly all black light and then red everywhere is just weird to me. Not trying to sound trashy. I like your car. Just needs more black, not alot. But just a smidge more. lol Or the headlights need to be done a different route. But thats just my opinion. :)

I wonder how gloss black side mirrors would have looked on your car instead of red to help tie in with the headlights.... hmm...

TDavis 06-15-2014 09:25 PM

Black mirrors? No. Just no.

And I don't see at all what you're talking about the headlights lol

AaronGTR 06-15-2014 09:45 PM

I think it's looking great. Nice work man! :)

03GT SilverGun 06-15-2014 09:56 PM

Man that looks excellent! I guess I need to make a trip to Columbia and see it in person.

TDavis 06-15-2014 10:32 PM

Definitely. Even with how photogenic it is now the photos still don't make it look as nice as it is in person.

sleepyalero 06-15-2014 10:41 PM

I guess im crazy.

[ChaosweaveR] 06-15-2014 10:49 PM

We've all known you're crazy, Sleepy. :P

sleepyalero 06-16-2014 12:32 AM

Well glad you guys know then haha.

After having my TA, same here.

sleepyalero 06-16-2014 10:31 AM

nope not me. i'm never touching another black car or dark colored car ever again.. going light on the color of my next subaru if i can find a decent one when the time is right.

TDavis 06-16-2014 01:37 PM

Deciding I might just paint the molding on the kit black so match out, since I have the molding pieces for the bumpers anyway. Then later on down the road probably repaint the door cladding, can't notice the paint vs paint on the two until you really stare at it but it wouldn't hurt to paint it anyway.

Also thinking of maybe getting the SC/T badges from GrafxWerks instead of using the ones I have. The ones I have look really awkward since they're small.

Here's the GrafxWerks badge

http://www.grafxwerks.com/global_ima...es/1058_01.jpg

Here's the one I have.

sleepyalero 06-16-2014 02:06 PM

the only thing I really like better over the grafixwerkz or whatever badge, is that theres is a sticker, and yours is an actual badge. which makes for easier removal and what not, im just not a fan of stickers on paint. that's all.

xUnderCoverHoBo 06-16-2014 02:29 PM

I like grafxwerks i had a gt badge for my ga and liked it a lot

yep. the black gto would be dusty enough to write on after a 10 mile drive on paved roads. i swore i'd never get another black car again. So what did i do? put black wheels on my g8 lol. brake dust like a smbtch.

nothing wrong with white, it can be sporty. red is my 2nd fave.

ItsMeScottG 06-16-2014 07:11 PM

I'm actually really enjoying my e46, I love the gray color.

mfuller 06-16-2014 08:23 PM

It's been a while since I posted any updates, so I figured what the hell.
At least the motor and trans are back between the fenders.

I really should get the rear trailing arms boxed and re-finished.
Probably wouldn't hurt to re-finish the front subframe too.
Oh, well. Too many projects, too little time.

Seems to be coming along... aftermarket cooling fans?

Yes. Spal fans for the aluminum radiator.
