Oh, well. Too many projects, too little time.

The few things I noticed on such a fine specimen aswell. But honestly those are such a small thing I wouldn't worry about it right now( for my own i am lol). Get her back on the ground for a bit first! I would love to get a ride in this thing.

And something to add on surprisingly there was no rust behind the stock GT side panels.

Hey Tanner if I may make a few recommendations, I think your car would look a lot better upfront if you got yourself an arrowhead and perhaps black letter inlays for you plate cover? I know everyone is all for de-badge and that naked look, but since you have the indent for the arrowhead I think it should be filled because it just looks like someone stole your arrowhead!

From my understanding, he has an arrowhead that he is planning on installing. He just hasn't gotten to it yet.

Thank you :applause:

My dad advised on maybe getting the black inlays for the "Pontiac" on the plate filler as well. We will see.

It's water, your car sees plenty of it when you wash it. lol

TDavis 06-18-2014 04:46 PM

Didn't get to around painting the sides but it will be done nonetheless. Need to rinse it off anyway since its dusty from gay ass gravel.

SikMindz 06-18-2014 05:14 PM

Forget the black accents. Go silver or reflective red. Everybody and their mom (including Sik's mom...oh wait...) does red/black. Do something different.

TDavis 06-18-2014 05:53 PM

Only reason I'm making it black is to match it like OEM. Not going for a black and red theme, if I was going for that I would of gotten black wheels and/or accented the lower kit in black.

And if I wanted the moldings in silver I would of accented the lower kit in silver lol What everyone and their mom actually does is accent the lower skirts and rear lip black or silver, I didn't go black because I feel it would of blended into the ground which I didn't want. I have yet to see a nice clean all red SC/T

And all red in a way looks weird without the black moldings.

I would think having a GA with the SC/T kit itself alone is different lol, only other SC/T kitted ones in existence(that are on forum) is Phantoms and Brandons, Luke is selling his so I'm not counting that.

It looks nice tanner.

I did FINALLY find out what's wrong with my car. Stripped rocker arm. Any idea on price to fix? And what I can do to stop it from happening again? Thanks

Price... no idea since I've never had to do it before.
I've heard they can be fixed with a heli-coil though.

As far as stopping it from happening.... that's kinda hard to say. It usually happens from over tightening and/or repeated removal and re-installation and torquing of the rocket arm bolts. Over time it causes the aluminum threads to fatigue and eventually they won't hold to the recommended torque anymore and will strip. Only thing you can do is make sure they aren't over torqued and try to remove them as little as possible, or drill and tap every hole and put a heli-coil in them all in advance before they fail.

Ouch...I noticed it's particularly with 03 GMs with any 60*V6 do this. Mine did it twice, the rocker arm gets f'd up and the valve sticks shut. You lose compression in the cylinder and it misfires and makes all sorts of horrid noises.

That's what I told you it could be in the other forum and gave you an estimated cost. When I thought that's what was wrong with mine I was quoted around $250-$300 to get it fixed if I am remembering correctly. My mechanic was going to heli coil it but then when I actually took it to him he found out it was the lifter. My mechanic is $40 an hour btw just for reference.

Sorry! I must have missed that. But thank you for repeating it for me.

Finally got new wheels and tires.

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps8dcee16b.jpg

They are mfuller's old wheels. Kosei K1 racing, 17x7.5" 35mm offset. I weighed them at 16.8 lbs a piece. Using the 8mm spacers I had with them, so the effective offset is 27mm which places them just about perfectly where I wanted them. Tires are 235/45-17 BF G-force Sport Comp 2's. They've got a $70 rebate running on them at TireRack this week, so got them for an awesome price, and they are one of the highest rated tires in the category. They are a perfect fit on this rim too. Everything looks much better now. :)

AaronGTR 06-19-2014 10:52 PM

Only bad thing about the wheels was I didn't like the silver color, and they had some chips and curb rash, so I decide I was going to repaint them from the get go. Wanted something darker so I decided to go with graphite metallic paint from duplicolor. I really like the color and they turned out looking awesome! Only one bad thing... the paint isn't hard enough. I'm kinda ticked because I prepped them very well, primed, painted, and clear coated them with wheel specific paints. I let them dry for 8 whole days before having the tires mounted too, but the paint go f'd up in a few spots from the mounting and balancing machines. The cone on the mounting machine actually caused the paint and clear to crinkle inside the center part, while the primer stayed put. I think I'm gonna email duplicolor some pics and see if I can get my money back. Anyway, it's all I had time and money for right now. Maybe after these tires wear out and/or the finish starts getting more worn, I'll dismount them and have 'em stripped and powder coated. Have to same up some $$ before that.

Here's a few close ups though.

Pontiac_guy99 06-20-2014 01:26 AM

I think it looks great! I really love graphite. Thats so cool.

And what kind of headlights did you get? I like the whiteish piece around the lightbulb thing.

xUnderCoverHoBo 06-20-2014 01:28 AM

I just really liked tho old ones. Idk i feel like i would like them more in white maybe? Hard to tell i assume these where taken with ur phone so they probly look better in person idk mixed feelings on these

xUnderCoverHoBo 06-20-2014 01:29 AM

Whiteish piece around the lightbulb thing,

quote of the year

young gun 06-20-2014 04:28 AM

Very nice! Very light weight too. Good choice aaron. I'm not too surprised with the paint chipping if you took the rims to a normal shop to have them mounted. I have a shop around here that will mount them for free if they end up scuffing your rims even if they are painted ( not plasti dipped thou).

Now more boost.

Lol I've had those for a long time. They are HID projectors retrofitted into stock headlights. Got them from TRS.I painted the housing black and painted the shroud around the projector white and they got LED's in them.

Yea when I moved to Houston I couldn't believe I found another sedan in my apartment complex let alone another standard. Only 3,xxx in that configuration in the States.

There's a white coupe in the same complex too. And about seven more at work.

Where did you move from? I also live in Houston . I recently got myself a e46 330CI ZHP.

tipnitty 06-20-2014 07:03 AM

Aaron, I like the color that you went with and the new over all look. As much as I like white on white, it was definitely time for a change. But I'm not the biggest fan of the actual wheel design. But to each their own, and these are definitely more function for your applications.

I dig it man.

sleepyalero 06-20-2014 08:06 AM

I knew you were getting those ;) bout time they were put on!
