NEVER USE THE BRUSH ON THE WALL! ITS A BAD THING IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PAINT lol but seriously. its terrible.

It could look clean but so many people use it. It never gets washed out im sure. So much dirt/dust/mud whatever just stuck up in there. I will never touch one.

can't you just pressure wash the brush first :D

TDavis 07-16-2014 10:04 AM

Doesn't matter. The bristles themselves will harm the paint. Not to mention when you're in the process of cleaning it with the brush it picks up dirt and your just grinding the existing dirt that was on your car into the paint.

To people who don't car about holograms, swirls, and scratches this shouldnt matter to them. They just want the car to "look clean."

sleepyalero 07-16-2014 01:30 PM

What tanner said.

geldartb 07-16-2014 02:01 PM

that's why you wash the dirt off first and then after washing the brush out use it.

who the hell would use a sponge or brush on a car without washing the bulk of the dirt off first.

TDavis 07-16-2014 02:15 PM

Power washing the loose dirt off yes, but power washing it doesn't get all the hard dirt off.

In the end, over time it will swirl the sht out of the paint and have the tendency to scratch it.

Oh what a wonderful world we would be living in if power washing got ALL the dirt off.

sleepyalero 07-16-2014 05:20 PM

Well my car just gets dusty.... so quick pressure wash and shes clean.

So my next door neighbor blew the engine on his 2010 challenger last weekend, his truck doesn't fit in the garage and it hailed last night. So both of his cars have hail damage and one has a trashed motor. He sent just sent me this and said "Quit rubbing it in my face" and attached this.

The terror of the plains: Indiana is bad enough; why would anyone with straight sheet metal choose to live where the skies **** baseballs?

Mac is that your lift? If so I'm jealous. I want a lift.
I like the tips! Looks great.
Also do you have electric cutouts? If so do you have a video clip of the exhaust sound? I'd be interested in hearing. If I get a g8 eventually (I hope a year), I'd consider getting cutouts

Hey, at least you have your own garage to work in, and a second car to drive. ;) That makes doing those projects a lot easier. Lots of things not getting done on my car right now for this reason.

Nope, that's a shop. He doesn't have a lift, or a welder. I do believe he's got cutouts on that car though, correct me if I'm wrong Mac.

c'mon man, if i put cutouts on my stock gagt, then you know i'm going to have them on my V8 lol

you can see the cutouts hanging down in the pic on the lift.

in this vid, i close the cutouts at 0:35, open back up at 0:50

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2RKsV1a_Dk

driving with them open... now remember, when they are closed, the car is as quiet as a lexus lol

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWr7PxVUi5A

that vid is old... now with the 3.70 rear diff, the revs are always much higher

TDavis 07-18-2014 09:23 AM

Still can't see how thats appealing. Obnoxiously loud and doesn't have a quality sound.

sleepyalero 07-18-2014 10:12 AM

Loud to me is good. His g8 sounds awesome imo.

gudge 07-18-2014 11:39 AM

I have to agree with sleepy. Mac's G8 sounds awesome with the cutouts. I want a V8 so bad.

tipnitty 07-18-2014 01:12 PM

That sounds fuggin sweet as hell mac.

geldartb 07-18-2014 01:42 PM

i like that setup that's what i was trying to accomplish with mine. loud as fuck when i want it to be and quiet enough when i want it to be.

doesn't have a quality sound??? it's an LS v8...
i honestly believe if you rode in the car, you'd love it. and when someone doesn't, i just close the cutouts.

He's never been in an LS, he has no idea lol.

TDavis 07-18-2014 09:26 PM

Sry but if your wanting your car that loud you're just wanting to get others peoples attention for your own ego, that's all.

I don't need that type of attention. Sry, not my cup of tea. I'm glad you have cut outs though, instead of permanently doing it with straight pipes. Has nice idle even though it sounds like a tractor but when u get on it it just sounds like ass, not to mention the popping from the unburnt gasoline is annoying as hell and can get very old very quickly.

And yeah I haven't driven in an LS but I have driven my dads and dads friends dirt race cars that have over 1100hp combined from the two. Yeah it's nice and loud but it's a race car. Yours is not, it's a public commuter.

sleepyalero 07-18-2014 10:02 PM

Still a race car!

And mine pops. I like the popping haha. I dont think an exhaust making popping noises is unburnt fuel........ where the hell did you get that info?

TDavis 07-18-2014 10:16 PM

It's unburnt fuel combusting inside the exhaust.

It's a toy. If we cared about fuel, we would mod a prius with a bigger battery. As an LS owner, we don't want a loud car for your attention. We enjoy the way the car sounds and makes us happier with our cars. Of course there are people that take it too far, happens with every car.

TDavis 07-18-2014 10:33 PM

I said nothing about conserving fuel so idk where the caring about fuel came from. Was just explaining what the popping is.
