Never thoroughly cleaned the interior and crevices. Decided to since I acquired a Bonneville GXP shift knob. Might get a black red stitching shift boot from Redline to match the whole shifting assembly. Loving the look of it, finally doing something to the interior, MIGHT paint the metal part on the shifter red. Buffed, polished, and waxed the shifter with my DA while I was at it.

Weird. The alero doesn't have anything like that.

Poor Mac.

Bad thermostat, bad headgaskets, lack of coolant or all three.

sleepyalero 09-21-2014 09:48 AM

Hope he shut it off before it caused damage.

That is the premium radio in 2000.

Oh I forgot that they changed the radios in like 2001 or 2002. Since I had an '03 I took those features for granted lol

Interesting tape deck. I think you should get an adapter to play your phone/iPod through the tape deck. I have one and it works great, just that my deck is built into the head unit.

Those things work but they sound horrible. It's a thousand times better to just get an AUX line.

The older radios came with the tape deck like that. And I do have a adapter, you can see the cassette to mp3 in the slot.

My speakers have all almost had it, think they're fading out, the lyrics on songs are not as loud as they where. Been meaning to replace all 4 but cba since I don't care for audio that much. I want good aftermarket replacements that plug in play.

[ChaosweaveR] 09-22-2014 05:06 AM

IIRC, the fronts are weird shaped, and the rears you can use 6x9s, you just need to make them fit. When my stock Monsoon rear speakers went, I used Alpine Type Rs and they sounded nice. My fronts and tweeters never went.

I used the tape adapter as well, MAINLY because my stock head unit had free service activated to XM/Sirius.

tw0123 09-22-2014 06:38 AM

Front door speakers are 4x6... you can put in a 5 1/4" round speaker in with very minimal work for better quality, basically you remove the stock mount and bolt in the new speaker.... with any aftermarket speaker you'll have to rewire as none will be plug and play....
lots of brands available for various prices just search for what you think you need and go from there!

Hate that. Mine have a little rattle at full volume

Pontiac_guy99 09-23-2014 02:52 PM

Mine rattle at a little before the 3rd notch on the volume meter. It also rattles when I drive on bumpy roads.

Turns out all of my speakers are doing that.
