I said nothing about running switchbacks, just put a white 194 led in the empty spot so it don't look like something is missing

Still wouldn't flow with anything, random white 194 next to amber turn signals. Quote:

Tanner do it, it would stay out of the snow since he lives down south.

Yeah there is a chance of snow here in oklahoma later this week. What the actual **** right? Glad my car are inside. I'll probably go wash my truck after work today so I can avoid doing it in the freezing cold.

i got high 70's to low 80's called for the week

There was also a 10AM start for school this morning. The one of the few good things about snow. |

Mine needs an oil change like that soon.
|
Yup. Why does it have to be so hard to do oil changes nowadays?

Lol in all seriousness, i am pulling the motor... Lol

Blow up the motor? But you never drive it.
|
Bad synchronizer or fork for gear 2. Wont stay in second unless i force the shifter to stay, if i dont it pops out of gear instantly. So motor and trans has to come out.
Im deabting, since it will be out. That i will send it off to a company to build it to hold more power. I found a place that can build it in 2 different power stages. Stage 2 will hold up to 600 ft lbs, so thinking on going that route, along with a quaife LSD for the tranny, to help for the turbo build power so i dont have to worry about tranny issues. Engine is almost out though, still have to pull axles, fuel lines, power steering lines, few more electrical connections, then start dropping motor, trans and cradle down together. Oh and unbolt the shift linkage and should be good to drop, sadly i cant pull them out through the top. So i have to drop motor and trans out the bottom and lift shell of car up high enough to drag it out from under the car. But the trans build is just an idea atm, just depends. I would really like to get a new set of headers. Mine are raggedy looking, also would like to replace a few things while im there, water pump seems to be leaking (again), maybe some suspension components as well. And maybe more performance parts while im there too, we will see. I would really like to cam the car, but may just save the money and wait to do it with a turbo set up. |

I want to know why you can't pull it out the top? If your pulling the trans now you mind as well build it. Put your pace****ters back on and save for whatever is next for the motor which you can pull separately |
Its pretty tight to pull just the motor. almost easier to pull it all out at once. But im sure its doable.
But, with the 6 speed idk if same for auto, the trans womt fit, it goes all the way over to the driver wheel well, and if i did pull it out the top, i would have to tilt the motor extremely to one side for the transmission to clear the driver side body, brake lines etc. so thats kind of sketchy imo to do, so out the bottom it is. |
Quote:
body needs to go up HIGH to clear everything out the bottom, although guess it didn't help that I left rims and struts connected when I dropped mine out the bottom lol I even chopped a rather large piece of metal out the front behind the bumper http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...1213-00260.jpg *edit* just seen your post lol engine leveler makes taking it out the top together much easier in my eyes, I was able to pull my lx9 and 5spd out the top but did need to remove the driver side trans mount to get some extra room to clear those brake lines |
Well we got our first blizzard of the year. I put my stock wheels back on and sure enough they scraped the hell out of my calipers.
|
Also just thought of something your going to have the passenger brake line in the way if you drop the subframe and drivetrain out together... maybe it's just late and I can't think straight but think you will have some issues with it
|
Jesus you took everything out of your car! That engine bay is empty as sht! Lol
And maybe so, ill have to look around to make sure i wont run into issues, but i dont think a brake line will be in the way but im not to sure. Milzy said they cant come out of the top together, worst comes to worst ill have to try and unbolt the Motor from the tranny first, pull engine out, then pull trans out separately. |
I pulled mine out of the garage finally after a year or so of sitting and drove to town got some gas, stopped at the car wash, picked up some tools to remove my steering wheel, and parked her back in the garage
http://i61.tinypic.com/2nrlx93.jpg where the inside looks like this... removed steering wheel, clockspring, and the horn ring part http://i58.tinypic.com/afeql3.jpg |
I don't see why they can't unless it has something to do with his mounts? My F23 sits slightly outside the frame rail and it can come out the top still
This is the brake line I was referring to, might not be in the way but be careful http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...pszgdb0rwr.jpg Also I had my crank pulley off when installing/removing my lx9/5spd so that probably helped, wasn't needed with the 3400/auto |
Interesting. This i was told no way out the top together. But idk.
Abd yeah that brake line shouldnt be in my way just have to unattach from cradle. |
The manual trans is supposed to be smaller than the auto so I don't see why it couldn't come out the top. Way less work than dropping the sub-frame. The crank pulley can get in the way if you try and pull the engine out without the transmission, but pulling them both together I do it all the time. If you needed to you could always pull the crank pulley off first and that will give you a couple extra inches.
|
Well idk then, according to milzy he said they cant come out together up top. Lol

ill be doing an oil change the middle of spring... as for the car http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...pscqss6obr.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...psazjqlvss.jpg http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/l...psmefgfi5r.jpg |

Jim did you dye your leathers green?? lol |
no my car came with cloth seats... many yrs back I got full leather replacements from leatherseats.com they have dark green inserts and grey outside
how the inside looks after putting my steering column back together. note to anyone trying to change out a horn ring... have fun, I spent hours trying to find a way to compress the spring on the steering shaft in order to put the lock ring in place to hold the horn ring. finally got it then put the clock spring on and put my NOS leather wheel with radio controls. now just need the adapter for my alpine to work with the controls http://i61.tinypic.com/2zg6gi1.jpg |
