I dunno, the one I had always sounded like crap. Maybe you had a better tape deck? Regardless, it's still not capable of reproducing CD level sound quality. |

But alas, the GT350 has been OFFICIALLY announced and I couldn't be more tickled. Quote:

Yeah, mine was an electronic one, never seen a tape one. Sound quality still sucked, but like I said that could have been due to the stereo and stock speakers I was playing through. In a normal radio with better speakers it would probably sound better. In a higher end stereo system though, I'll bet you would notice some sound degradation. A magnetic head simply is not capable of transmitting the volume of data used to reproduce the rich sound depth you'd get from a laser disc or digital wav file. Most people wouldn't notice or care though.

I love my aux plug in on my car. Back when i had myfirst car a 93 avalon i had the tape **** it was horrible.

Was a nice 35 today so I did the first winter wash, been over a week since its last wash which is a long time for me but I can't wash it when its below freezing or else the water would just freeze, anytime above 30 is fine for me. Paint is nice and smooth like glass after the sealant and wax even after all that dirt sitting on it for a while.

Rear sct bumper piece splitting off away from bumper above driver tail pipe.
|
Just gotta find something wrong don't you? Its not, its the angle of the picture, thats how its been since I put it on. You don't realize how PITA the SC/T rear lip is to put on, thats how it fits, its near impossible to get it perfect not to mention even if you do it will eventually flex to what you see there from heat and cold etc.
Many people had problems with it considering it was made like 1mm smaller then the rear bumper. I was lucky enough to even get it on using the tape rather then other people who literally molded theirs on or screws them on. |

This looks very familiar to me! :) Almost exactly like my buddies 2000 323ci that I did a ton of work on. |

Mines a 2005 so it's a facelift, your friends must be a prefacelift e46. How long has he had his car? |

His engine bay looked almost exactly like yours though, so the engines must have been similar, even if the displacements were different. http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...ps9c43166a.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p...psebe2473c.jpg |

The 323 came with a m52 2.5l inline6 and the 325 came wth a better 2.5l inline6 engine, the 330 came with the m54 3.0l inline6 engine, and the 330 ZHP (what I have) came with a tuned m54 3.0l inline 6 engine, and lastly the best of the e46 (the M3) came with an S54 3.2L inline 6 engine. I love the power band on the inline6's though, you can literally always feel the torque. Butter smooth acceleration etc. These engines are reliable I must say, my car has 152k on it and still runs like it's brand new. Maitinance is costing me quite a bit more than my grand am did but I'm really enjoying the car so I don't mind it. |
Yeah, those inline sixes are inherently very smooth engines, and have very good torque curves. He would get an occasional check engine light from a cam position sensor (we replaced it but it still gave issues every now and then), and I had to replace the T-stat housing and coolant tank on it for him. Other than that, the only stuff we had to do on it was basic maintenance... replaced spark plugs, changed trans fluid/filter and diff fluid, brake pads, etc.
The chassis and engine/trans were in really good shape still when he sold it. The only really annoying thing was the interior was coming apart. BMW had some kind of film finish over most of the interior parts like the dash, door panels, speaker grills, etc. that was all peeling off, and there were some trim pieces around the door openings that kept coming loose and falling off. The heat would make the glue fail. The fabric on the head liner was coming off too and billowing in the wind. lol |
