Your parents sound clueless dude.

They are clueless about cars - otherwise they are pretty smart.

AaronGTR 12-22-2014 09:26 PM

Shade2012 12-25-2014 05:06 PM

Merry Christmas everyone, its been awhile since I've been on. Thought I would lurk here since its been so long. Here's a shot of the mustang. I've had some issues with it since I've had it but it hasnt been too bad. Just had to replace the alternator and the driver side seatbelt. Next on the list is to drop this damn 4x4. lol

Erick do u ever get hassled for having ur plate like that?

TruGreenGAGT 12-26-2014 07:28 PM

I would just remove it. looks dumb there IMO

99ga 12-26-2014 07:49 PM

I never get pulled over for it, I ve gotten pulled over for other reasons, and they never tell me shyt about the plate, but I have gotten those lovely morning tickets while it stays outside parked overnight because according to them is not "visible".
And Jim I'm pretty sure I would definitely get pulled over if it was not to be there at all...gotta love IL

TruGreenGAGT 12-26-2014 07:53 PM

I never had mine mounted although I lived more north of Chicago

geldartb 12-27-2014 07:02 AM

or just screw it through the plate filler panel like i did..got a spare one which i guess is irrelevant now.. doesn't look stupid and it still retains the filler part.

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h5...am%202/040.jpg

TruGreenGAGT 12-27-2014 12:20 PM

I mounted mine in the factory location and just put the filler over it.

geldartb 12-27-2014 01:41 PM

a lot of states bitch about those trim things you mount over the plate because it covers part of the plate i can't see mounting it behind the bumper like that to be any better. plus isn't that obstructing the airflow.

TruGreenGAGT 12-27-2014 02:01 PM

they bitch cause the plate frames cover the state sometimes so it can make difficult to run a plate if not sure what state.

and that goes back to how is it ok to have the plate behind the bumper like that where the only thing showing is the letters.

looks like his plate has red letters so it could be from any number of states including mine. i mean you drive a damn grand am not a maserati mount the plate where it goes.

sleepyalero 12-27-2014 02:43 PM

Front plates are ugly.

geldartb 12-27-2014 02:45 PM

shit happens unless you are driving something nice (and no that doesn't mean an n-body) that is a show car or something along that line then put the plate on..

NikolaCop 12-27-2014 03:02 PM

I've lived in Illinois, Rhode Island, Washington, and Idaho in the past year and havent gotten crap about not having front plates on the GA, the Fiero, or the Camaro. Maybe I'm just lucky? Never liked the way it looked behind the bumper, looks too jdm bruh

geldartb 12-27-2014 03:58 PM

and sticking it on the right side of the windshield is :hay:er than ellen and rosie put together

TDavis 12-27-2014 07:37 PM

Awesome bike, ****ty color.

lol

Sweet pick up man.

TDavis 12-27-2014 08:02 PM

Yeah, I'm tired of having red mobiles, I plan on getting OEM arctic white fairings later on. The white with the red trellis frame looks pretty good. I would love to paint the trellis frame a dark blue to match my gear but that requires disassembling the entire bike.

Should look like this but for now I need to get frame sliders and a tail tidy and painting the exhaust black till I get aftermarkets, stock sounds pretty damn good though, much louder then stock supersports. Damn bike was a steal

tipnitty 12-27-2014 08:04 PM

I might do it differently, but hell, still a sweet bike.

TDavis 12-27-2014 08:27 PM

I'm sure you would go all black maybe but all black bikes are overrated lol.

Would never get a white car but a white bike yes

sleepyalero 12-27-2014 08:39 PM

Congrats, just not a fan. But its not my bike. ;)

Duh, its a Ducati, there are those nay sayers out there, but in the end its a Ducati and I couldn't give a fk lol I like naked bikes, less cheap plastic "protecting" things.

sleepyalero 12-27-2014 09:19 PM

I dont mind most naked bikes. Its mainly 98% of ducatis models i dont care for. The 1199 is like the only one i like from them. Oh and the 899 but thats really it lol

TruGreenGAGT 12-27-2014 10:03 PM

Now we all wondering and ill be the **** to ask... when you getting laid??

But most of the time when they are running a plate, they are behind your car following you. They don't have time to catch your plate on the front if they are going by you, unless they are using that automatic scanner equipment. Which goes back to the question of do they really NEED front plates to begin with. Many states (like MI) decided against front plates, because it is not really necessary, and wastes tax payer money. 2 plates cost twice as much as 1.

TruGreenGAGT 12-28-2014 07:56 PM

my comment applies to the rear plate also, some states like cali says not to use plate frames that cover any part of the upper or lower wording.

hell ive never ran a front plate on my car and have had plenty cops driving towards me then doing u-turns to pull be over for speeding. even just recently when having my car inspected at DMV and CHP to get my reg switch to cali neither place asked where my front plate was

AaronGTR 12-28-2014 08:01 PM

Yeah, but they can check your speed with radar when they are coming towards from the opposite direction. They aren't checking your plate though. Having a plate on the front is pointless. ;)

TruGreenGAGT 12-28-2014 08:04 PM

oh I know they can radar driving at ya not debating that, but its required in Illinois to have the front mounted they could have easily written me a ticket for not having it along with the speeding one

tw0123 12-29-2014 10:07 PM

Up here they want the front plate (at least in my province) cuz they just passed legislation that the cops have access to dmv registrations... they have the computer that will pick up the plate run it for valid sticker and valid insurance... if no green light they pull a u turn and you're screwed... car's instantly impounded along with tickets in your hand as you walk home....
