In most cases the slots in your slotted rotors will get filled with pad dust anyhow and look dark/black most of the time. When cleaned however the plating in the slots should look nice...

I have the 13" ones and LOVE the way they work, smooth and strong. They do seem to connect sooner but pedal pressure seems to be the same, not problem with f/r balance anyhow. Looks like they'll last...

It sounds like the bad IAT is telling the engine that the air is cold all the time, even when its hot. In this case the ECU may be supplying to much fuel which can bog down the motor and/or cause it...

Changing to a good battery does make some sense... It sounds like your overdrive clutch was not engaging properly, this can be caused by lame power as it is electrically activated. Be glad it's fixed...
