Intercooling the supercharged kit on these cars isn't easy by any means, its a pain to install it stock as it is...not much room left over.

I rebuilt my LX9 with new GM bearings and I've got about 7k miles on it (DD) now and she runs just fine...

He has rod knock on an engine that he just got rebuilt less than 3,000 miles ago. It was built by a reputable shop.

It is toasty and not worth dumping more money into.
