Well, the bracket clips were a part of the problem. The Camaro ones allow the pads to slide much better than the Corvette clips. This cleared up the passenger side but unfortunately, the driver's side is still too tight and I think it's the caliper itself. I managed to pick up a junked set of calipers so that I could put the car back to stock at least.
