The fronts do more of the braking yes, but it's not 90%. Probably more like 70/30. Rears usually should last about 40% longer than the fronts on average. You could try hawk performance ceramics. I used them on the rear of my GP with good results. They are a performance street pad with a hybrid ceramic compound. They offer good stopping power and lower dust and noise than a straight organic compound, without being as harsh on rotors or reduced stopping power of full ceramics. Pad life is in between.
