I'm replacing my 3.4 engine with only 60k miles. I'm lucky that my warrenty is covering it . To let you know there are about 50 TSB's on this engine. I'm in the Army, another soldier in my same BN is having the same problem. Our cars are 2000 Grand Am GT's. Engine codes are M . The only differents in the two cars is his is a two door while mine is a four door. My question is what are the odds the two cars have the same problem, within mayby a mile apart. IF THERE IS ANYONE OUT THERE WITH THIS PROBLEM LET ME KNOW ........ IT STARTS OUT AS A LOUD TAP, THAN GETS WORSE. The classaction over the coolent may be just the beginning for GM.....

#00-05-23-002B Front Disc Brake Pulsation (New Rotor Run-Out Specification and Correction Method) - (Mar 5, 2003)

Is this the only "warped rotor" related TSB ? My car is at the dealership and I know they are going to blame my blown wheel bearing on my powerslots.....Any other brake related TSB's? Thanks Seth!

Hey Iceman,

What's up Bro? I am a long time member here and just came back for some info. I wanted to thank you for the list you have put together for the GA owners here. Very helpful when dealing with warranty issues.

Only one suggestion. Could you space them out per TSB so it is easier to read. One hell of a run on list.

Just a suggestion

In this code what is meant by a flare? I am having some tranny issues and it has always sorta revved a little while at a constant speed but I thought nothing of it. Just today it started not upshifting from 1-2 and maybe they are related. Cruise control has also been an issue with it cutting in and out for no apparent reason. Hopefully with some of these codes they can figure something out.

Thanks for all the information.

please do not tell me all those items mentioned in the first two post are recalls. I've never recieved anything from GM and alot of the things mentioned I am currently having problems with. I don't know about everyone else cars but mine has been a piece of sh** since the day I bought it and I'm really starting to get tired of having it in the shop every week.

dexcool is not the problem. there is nothing wrong with dexcool it is the best coolant u can buy for the money.. it is just very powerful.. the problem with our cars and many others with 3.4's in them is the gaskets they used and they way they fit.. the dexcool eats them (in 2003 they corrected this).. there is a big fuss in canada and the us now about gm hiding this problem.. i am hoping for a recall of all 99-02 grand ams so i can get mine fixed.. i dont want to pay 800-900 to get it fixed.. about 100 in gaskets.. the rest is labour

Just got back from the dealer... They said there are issues with my outer Tie Rods. They said a TSB was issued for rough casting I think.. Does anyone have this???

How difficult would a Tie Rod replacement be?

did you read the section on "how to use TSBs"? they arent recalls either, they are just known problems...and as it states in the how to use section, dealerships are not obligated to fix them free of cost unless the car is under warenty
