Widest rim size?

Hey guy, i've found some rims on ebay that seem like they'll fit, but i saw the largest width recommended is 7.5"? these are 8.5" and im not sure if they'll work.

I used nankang ultra sport II's, Like I had on my 20s. But I went with a 225/45/18 when I shoulda went with a 235/45/18 cause the lip sticks out just a lil from the tire with the 225s but its not too bad

I would have if my car was lowered. But it is also a huge improvement with ride quality with the 45s cause I had 35s on my old rims. Whenever I get the money to lower I will get new tires

There is no reason you can't use 8.5" wheels. The only thing to remember is the wider you go on the wheel and tire, the closer you're going to get to everything else, so it's more important to have all your critical dimensions picked very carefully if it's going to fit without rubbing. Offset, tire width and height, whether the car is lowered and how much, whether you will need to roll fenders... all that stuff has to be considered. Otherwise you are just counting on luck.
