Built 3400 Short Block (for boost) $1,000 + Shipping

I have a built 3400 for sale.

Includes: The entire bottom end (without heads, unless you want them), ARP Head Studs. Ross forged pistons (specs on my site). Gas nitrated rings (from Ross). Eagle H-beam rods for a SBC small journal modified for the 3400. .927 chromoly pins & spirolox retainers. Clevite-77 bearings for the mains and rods. Durabond cam bearings. More details than I really intended to post here

The block (99 3400):
-Casting Flash removed and polished (by me)
-Screens epoxied in the lifter valley (by me)
-Radius job the main bearing bulkheads (by me)
-Bored .020 over using torque plate (circle track engine shop called "WRP")
-Deck surfaced (by previously mentioned shop)
-Entire rotating assembly balanced (by previously mentioned shop)

For Pics of the entire teardown and build, see:

http://groomlakelabs.com/index.php?q...&g2_itemId=578

So, in 2006, I ran a 13.4@108 (in a FWD) and ran out of fuel on the track when the 65# injectors starved the pump. (venturi pump issue in the grand am pump assembly I learned a good lesson on when replacing with a Walbro)

Anyways, as you can imagine, bad detonation. Rod bearings lost their crush, then failure. Crank was even bent .006. So, the crank was magnafluxed, bent to spec, magnafluxed again (no cracks). It was turned, and I ordered all new bearings. Same (Durabond) Cam bearings, .25mm over rod and main Clevite-77's. Now, I am just cleaning and building for the sale.

So what am I asking for? "At Least" $1,000 + shipping. You can also do local pickup. And if close enough to 26101, I might even deliver (you pay for the fuel).

Here are a few recent pics of the re-assembly:

So, as it sits, it is very easy to add a different Cam if desired (buyer supplied), or make changes as needed. Given the current status displayed above, what you get would look the same as below. This will also include 2 spare Eagle H-Beam rods. The following is a pic of the original rebuild, but reflects what is for sale for the 1k:

This includes all the perfectly functioning sensors:

-Oil Level sensor
-Both crank position sensors
-Camshaft position sensor
-Knock sensor

Some things in the pictures that may have been overlooked:

-Fast Forward underdrive pulley
-1/2" NPT bung welded to the oil pan with -8AN fitting

And the ARP nuts and washers to go with the head studs are also included.

I have all kinds of other goodies too. Pretty much everything in the "Phase 3" section of my gallery (URL Above).

The entire Short Block (and some extra parts). Meaning, the way you see the engine below:

It will also include 2 spare Eagle H-Beam rods, oil pump if wanted, GM High pressure spring (can be installed in the pump if wanted). There may be some other items as well.

As it sits at the moment, I can easily install a a custom Cam (Buyer supplied), and remove the stock profile solid core cam.

This is a hell of a deal for anyone looking into a serious setup. Ive put $1k into just custom pistons and machining of my block alone. The rods are around 400ish new, plus the cost of having them narrowed and new bearing tangs ground in them. Including the costs of bearings, gaskets and labor, id say building this short block yourself is upwards of $2500!!!!!

Good luck with your sale Todd.

Don't forget about the cost to balance the rotating assembly... The fact the all the sensors are practically new, the FFP pulley, practically new timing set...

k. I have decided to start parting things out. If I do not get a firm commitment on this in the somewhat near future, I will toss in the heads (installed) with the rest of the valve train (just needs cleaned and reassembled). Of course, the price will go up slightly, but it will be tossed on eBay. Need to hunt down an engine crate... Pic below is what it will look like (what it will include). As of Wednesday this week, the option of me installing a cam for the buyer is off the table.

What heads are those? With the heads installed what would you be asking for a price? Depending on what you ask with the heads I might be more interested in it with heads installed but I dont exactly have a ton of money to spend so with the heads might be too much for me.

I am very interested in buying this I am currently using an m62 blower but would like to maybe sell it and go turbo so this would be perfect.

Also do you have any clue what shipping would be I live in MN

They are 3400 heads. They were originally ported and polished by a company called Street Arsenal (yes, for all you other folks, ages ago). Most recently, they had a full valve job performed on them, then they were glass bead blasted. I installed the LS6 springs, viton seals, shims, and SI stainless steel valves. They also have Breslin locking header bolts (since they were installed, it is better off to include them with the heads). I was thinking in the order of $1200 for the heads included. I would also do the LIM (P&P), Custom UIM (P&P) with Phenolic spacers, and 65mm TCE TB for $1,400 + shipping. (no injectors and fuel rail) Otherwise, a complete engine. The downside to the UIM is that there is no way to use/install an EGR.

I am offering things pretty cheap considering how much I was going to sell the car for vs. the other components. However, adding more to the top end adds to the overall shipping weight.

UIM & TB:

The UIM spacers are the TCE .5", brand new, never installed. They have rubber O rings, so no gaskets are needed.

Can't/Won't make the deal any sweeter than this.

Honestly I was expecting your price to be alot higher than that so for $1400 I am very interested in everything. Im really glad I came across this because I was planning on getting new heads, manifolds, and a tb soon and that by itself would cost me about this much.

One thing im a little worried about right now is shipping since I really have no clue how much this would cost to ship.

But anyways I am interested in everything you just listed (it doesnt matter to me if everything is in one peice or not) but I am going to do some thinking and see how much cash I have laying around then I will probably message back again tonight.

I am considering letting them go with the Turbo, that is, unless I get a really good offer. You do realize they are the 65# mototron right?
