Yes sir, I do. I'm actually inquiring on behalf of someone who plans to run ethanol on their turbo setup so putting these injectors to good use won't be a problem. I'll see what kind of offer he's willing to make if any.

what was the purpose of inserting the vents in the upper portion of the cam tunnel?
this is such a steal, if i hadn't of bought the bodykit i would be all over this, this is such a sweet setup ill be sure to let my fellow aleromodders know ![]() |

They aren't "vents". It is windage screen, and it is epoxied into the lifter valley so no foreign objects can fall into the block. I.e, broken rocker arm, etc.

im not sure if i see the purpose in that since there is something already there to begin with......im not calling you out or anything im just not sure if i see the reason behind it, cause like all you did is open up slots that WOULD allow materials to pass through

I'm sorry, but have you ever even worked on one of these engines? I'm not trying to be TOO critical of your response, because I am working under the assumption that you have never seen or worked on an engine that was built for performance. There is a significant amount of work that has went into this block alone. Removing the casting flash, opening the oil drain back holes, and epoxying in the windage screen serves quite a few purposes: -Improved oil drain back down to the pan. -Eliminates the ability for foreign objects to drop down into the rotating assembly, either while running, or while being serviced. I made the assumptions on your level of knowledge above based on your questions, but I would imagine you understand the benefit of the positive effects of the 2 items above. If you don't, then no problem. You will likely run into these if you do any research on what work is typically performed on performance engines. As for removing the flash, some prefer to do it differently. Rather than all the grinding, they simply paint or epoxy the surface to improve the drain back. I am not too crazy about this for a few reasons, so I took the grinding and polishing route.

um ok i guess i should go ahead and thank you for assuming i dont know what a LA1 is nor have i seen one or worked on one, i appreciate that assumption......
anyways i understand oil drain but with the holes as big as they are, particles can be much smaller than those holes, or were you thinking that larger things would break so that screen would filter/prevent them from falling in... again what i dont understand is why the screen is as large as it is, again not calling you out but wouldnt smaller screen holes be more ideal for the precaution of something breaking? but look man, im not here to argue with anyone here, im not here to pick fights, we all do the same thing here, we all modify the N-body to some extent, and we are all here for a reason, me myself i am impressed with the value to wrench time for this item is.....like i said if i had not of bought the bodykit i would be buying this Last edited by DLISH; 06-16-2008 at 03:52 PM. |

Thank you for the comments.
Sorry if that came across as an insult. However, by what you typed it was if you asserted the windage screen that was epoxied in the lifter valley contains holes larger than the regular cast holes. This made me think you have not likely seen a stock 60ºv6 lifter valley. The windage screen holes are suitable enough to catch the rocker arm bearings if one were to tank, and nothing much smaller. Some folks put in screen with smaller holes, however, I felt that would be overkill and restrictive. Again, while I don't mind folks asking questions about what I am selling, I'm not a big fan of folks questioning or second guessing the decisions I made in this thread. The intent of the thread is to sell (practically give away really), however, if anyone would like to debate certain aspects of the build, then I would encourage them to create a new thread in the performance section of the forums.

There is someone that has intent to buy, and he may actually be waiting on me at this point. I have yet to finish the heads (cleaning them up and installing new valve seals).

For anyone that is/was following along, there are pictures (hi-res available) in my gallery from quick updates during the build.
