Nice little suprise

So today at work I was gonna run the 18ga power wires for the brain box on my underglow. pulled back carpet, popped the hood, started taking off the lower dash panel and wam. TONS of wiring, and low and behold a Bulldog Security system. First thing I did was say oh ****, then I knew I was in a world of hurt.

Why people have to put aftermarket alarms on a car that comes with one factory, especially when this alarm wasnt even fully hooked up.

Anyway, got the wires ran and didnt touch the security ****. I go to start my car to move it, and nothin. Power for Accessories and everything, but starter doesnt engage.

This security system threw a code and locked my theft detterrent. and I cannot start my car. I checked the codes with an OBD II, and this week I have to push it around the shop to the mechanics side to have them fix it. What a great day.

I got my underglow on and working, and its ballin. I got vid and pics, but im pissed and tired as hell. I cant catch a break buying used cars.

Due to the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil. Plus the condition of the Economy. The Light At the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

yeah why would anyone buy an aftermarket alarm when you got a factory one? My cavalier has a factory alarm system and it works really well. you lock the car with the keyless entry remote and its armed. You cannot open the door even with the key unless you push the "unlock" button on the remote first, otherwise it will chirp for 10 seconds and then it'll start blaring the horn and flashing the lights. I imagine your grand am's the same way. I can't imagine having 2 alarm systems being a good thing

What will be funny is when your battery in the remote dies or you drop it in a puddle of water and your no where near a place to get a battery.

I put the underglow on after it wouldnt start. I got it fixed, I cut out all of the wiring, and removed the splices. Then had to have the pass lock sensor replaced and it runs fine now.

Car loves the underglow. I leave it on all the time to test the battery, its been on for a few hours and nothing is affected. Gotta love L.E.D.s.
