you are not getting 300hp with the superchargers that are available for the motor that are out on the market.

If you want your motor to survive 300hp, you will need aftermarket forged pistons and rods. Pulleys aren't worth the trouble for what you get out of them. You'll need to buy a cometic headgasket and ARP head studs, you'll need to find some cams (1995 2.3L intake cam and a 1992-1994 exhaust cam at minimum), you'll be advised to build up the head a little bit with some stainless steel valves, new lifters, and if you want your motor to rev higher a 2.3HO springs etc retrofit.

If you want to go the boosted route either via supercharger or turbo... 2.5inch exhaust minimum....

your fuel system you should probably think about an intank walbro pump since i'm sure your car is high mileage. a new fuel filter, and injectors that are sized to what your motor is capable of..

honestly, forget everything I said.

First learn about what it takes to make a car handle better and why doing certain things changes the handling. Then drive your car and see how it handles as it currently sits. Then do the same about the engine.


I can give you all the tips and ideas in the world. The way you're talking about performance makes me think you're not ready to dive in yet.

thats fine but im goin to put it this way, i drove my cousin acura turbo type-r for about a month, i know how to drive power, ive also been given the privalege to drive a transam with over 1000 hp, BAD ASSSSS, im not great on these motor ive done work on hondas and shet, so im not great with domestic, i can pop a few things in hondas and foreigns and get some power but thats foreign wise power. im trin to get power in the lightest effect ways for the new motor, the old motor i have im keepin and im goin to rebuild it.

and ya i found out that a S/C wont give me 300+ but it will give me some. im not goin to go all out on this bar till i have another to drive while im workin on this one. that will give me plenty of time to do more to it.

i have already learned a good bit about handling. like, i have the best built strut bar, better then you can buy, and does what its supposed to, and its not just for looks. poly endlinks, poly sway bar mounts, larger sway bar, im gettin poly control arm bushings, (im not sure tho if i really want them im debating thats why ive held off on them right now), im right now goin for a cheap mainly for looks lower springs but im goin to be doin tokico shocks, struts, and springs. im doin wider tires to better grip the road, and im doin either toyo or yokohama, high-performance. im goin with smaller rim size, like 16" racing rims, a little bit of rubber doest give you as much control as about 4" or rubber. i do know my control for my car, i dont need to learn i know theres more like im upgrading it to have a rear swaybar, and a few more things.

look. you dont have to come on here and start spouting off things to prove stuff to us. dont come on here and be a poser. just ask, listen, and chime in. come on here and accept the bountiful gifts of this forum, including but not limited to, sarcasm, post whores, useless info/trivia, countess flames, useful information, Mike Jung, getting pwned, in depth technical info, E-**** wars, and the occasional soft core car porn as my gf calls it. Also expect alot of people to take their aggression out here as well, guilty. If you want to know what the best option is, then make your thread title more descriptive. if you have to guess at anything, STOP!!! You wanted to know about the best way to use the 2.4 quad. There are a bunch of suggestions. First take spys advice. Second search. Third to sign up on the quad 4 forum. Fourth, search there also. Ask questions after the searching. Dont puff your chest out when someone questions your talent or abilities. And FYI if you can work on an import engine its almost the same as the quad 4 anyway...can you say overhead cam? Do not get discouraged, but when the answer you want will cost more time/money/work/intelect than what you have, that is life. Follow spies advice, itll work. he is so far the proven fasted n body in the known universe

i havent gotten mad, he said he was done on this post so i said alright , i didnt say anything to be angry at all. so dont say i didn if he wants to go thats fine its his option. i rest at that. and thats fine, about listenin to him i have. he said about control i stated what i should do and that i didnt know about control i stated what i have been tought over the years and have learned from people and mechanics and other sites. i might have flared in the last message and yes that would be me i hate bein told that im not ready. ive driven faster cars then people on here could ever imagin. ive worked on foreign cars a little but im not to great at this engine so im learing, control is the same in all cars atleast the general upgrades. yes i may have a few things out of place but he could have said hey well this is where your wrong, but if he doesnt want to point it out thats fine.

you did it again. you really need to stop that. dont come on here boasting like that. just cuz other people dont get flashy about the cars they drive besides the n bodies doesnt mean they do not drive fast cars. and on the other bolded point you are wrong.. drive a newer f body, then drive a y body...camaro vs vette in laymans. they both have LS1 engines, both basically have the same transmission, both are RWD with 2 doors, but they drive different they handle different. Now drive that same camaro with a 600 horse LSX in it...totally different car. FWD is the same, torque steer becomes a major problem, understeer does also, as well as driving in general, because you are then powering the steering wheels...most import cars do not get that aggressive with mods to even notice anything like that.

^ The wise man speaks. It's not that we think you don't know anything about cars. It's just some of the things you say just scream "I don't know what I'm talking about". It's obvious you know something about cars, but it's also obvious you don't know enough to do the level of modifications you are talking about wanting to do, because some of the things you say just don't click. It doesn't matter if your car is a domestic or import... cars are cars, engines are engines. If you know how a 4 cyl twin cam honda engine works, you should be able to figure a 4 cyl twin cam GM motor. The steps to making power are basically the same. My favorite magazine is sport compact car, because even though they very rarely feature a domestic car, they are high on the technical articles and explaining the physics of cars and how their various components work and can be modified. I can use their information to make my car faster too. That's what I'd recommend to you. Do some reading. Get some good magazines and books and learn what really makes your car tick. Once you understand the basics of making power, making a car handle, and making it stop, you'll be able to figure out for yourself what mods to do and in what order to do them.

alright i under stand this. okay, i know im not great on cars but i said what i learned for everone i know. so i just say what i know. if im wrong then so are they, but i just say what ive been told to do to make my car better, im not loaded with money but i do get magazines for shet like this. but i never read them cuz i dont have alot of time cuz i have no freakin life, living on a farm sucks when your the only one that really does the work just for a note to you guys, . but yes i know im trin to learn, and im am stupid on thing, mainly on sayin things the way you guys know the parts, im not great on explaining, and i maybe thinkin the same things you are but i put them different ways and it hard for other people to understand but i know, if i can see pics and stuff i can say yes i know thats what i was talkin about but i dont expect you guys to post pics of everything and thats fine, im just sayn. . im a person that also learns as he goes, i do my studies but i study by doin as well. i belong to a few other quad 4 sites and all. so im trin, and yes ..spy will deffinately know more about these engine then i will so im glad he helps. im not yellin im not boastin, im not flarin, im just talkin. this is how i am, i say what is on my mind, not the greatest idea, ive gotten in alot of sites cuz of that but you always know what i think of you when i say it. . i actually think its somtimes funny.

and yes i have hit 204, in a 2007 vett with twin turbo,bad ass and load as fock, no i dont have a NHRA license i dont give a shet,not bean mean on that its like my favorite word, im a rebel believer and i dont care i just want to feel the power. i actually wouldnt be on here if it hadnt been for gas prices, i would be drivin a 94 F350 turbo, lifted, huge ass tires, i luv that. i luv TRUCKS, but i got this car cuz its a domestic and not seen that much all fixed up. so to everyone that tell me to scrap the dreams i have for this car, im not im keepin everone, dreams help me like things, i can look at a vehicle and see what all i want to do and see waht all i can do. that me tho.

Im not trin to bean mean sometime it seems it but you need to know me to get me. .

and im trin to work up, i cant afford all these mods all at one time im just trin to learn the path up. so thats what i need,

sorry if ive been soundin mean or something im not. im also frustrated anyways cuz i can find a fockin engine. the one i wanted got sold already and i can find another. im pissed about that. but im not trin to take anything out on you.

a question tho. ive been driven my fathers and my truck for a little bit since i havent had my car. and have you ever heard that you cant fly flags in the bed of the trunk, i got pulled over cuzi stopped and my rebel flag hit the side of the car and dropped right away, and a cop pulled me over and gave me a warning for that. plus that fact that he didnt like the facti was flyin my rebel and my MARINE CORPS flag at the same time, he told me it was an insult to the MARINES cuz im flyin them together, he know cuz he was in the army, that wat he told me then i laughed in his face, sorry that sounds rude and i have nothin against the army till they think they know it all. he called the fockin recruiter and told his he felt it as an insult to the MARINES, my recruiter even laughed at him, and called him a retard. . it was funny as hell you should have been there. but he let me go and all but that was bull shet. at least i think so. i know its off subject but thats what happened today. so it on my mind and i keep laughin about it. lmao.

Alright, two thing, i already went muddin for the day, and i plowed the fields as well. so i already made my day. im a proud southern lover, and i will always be that way. if the south would have won we would be better off. and i never said "i know" i said i new about control which everyone else on the other sites im on say the same. so i dont know what you are thinkin i dont know much about power. i never said i did, so your the one sayn that. and you cant type like this cuz your not tallented enough to do so. i round words less spellin, and typin them out. people like you get there cars either towed away(while still in park)(by another southern pride truck), or ran over by a southern pride truck around here for what you just said we are huge southern pride people, and we will be that way till the end. its like attackin someones race, its not pretty in the end. never mind this. im done.

correct, because they are so different just follow the previous tips from spy before all the other stuff started. you need basically engine, comp, wiring harness
