Technically speaking, TYC is the knockoff..they came out with their model long after these came out on ebay.

I don't have experieince with these but I agree with the poster before AJ. TYC is a top notch company and are used by some of auto manufacturers to product OEM or OEM compliant parts.

I stand corrected. However I havent heard anything bad about TYC and I just got mine from Jared and looked at the seal on them and it looks really good. I suppose time will tell thought.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with TYC's..hell, I wish I had those instead of one of the original sets..just pointin out one small minor technicality is all..

you can defintely see the difference during the day with the chrome behind corner reflector versus blk behing the corner reflector.
at night a little less noticeable with maybe and i say maybe a wee smig better lighting coming from reflector with chrome behind it. don't be fooled that seal may look tight but it only took less then the thickness of a piece of paper for mine TYC 's to leak. any maker of lights aftermarket or factor has the possibility to leak. |

now i got mine from ZOMKSPEED or x3racing are both one in the same. but who ever you get them from give them the info i get you tommorrow and that they go to check to see what brand/manuafacture made there headlights. |

remember JUST TO BE SAFE and save possible headaches before you install. add some more clear silicone around back of headlights, use your 3 - factory adjusters , and if still good use your factory rubber moldings.

does it really focking matter either way? Nobody is going to be up against your car squinting at the edges of the reflector checking the color behind it..if it looks good then it looks good, pretty fockin simple.

if those are made by TYC , because they can be made by serveral companies, her are the part numbers for TYC made version >> 20-5540-A5-6B - left and 20-5539-A5-6B - right Last edited by CUSTOMGAGT2000SEDAN; 07-26-2008 at 06:21 PM. |

I've had both the TYC and non-TYC black headlight/clear corners, and they both were completely flawless. Only difference I noticed between the two is that the non TYC that I got have phillips heads for the beam adjusters instead of the torx bit or whatever.

the ones your checking on are made by JDM . now i have heard that name mentioned before on this website . just do not know what it was in reference to or whether it was good or bad.

well, they look identical to the ones i just sold, except for the white reflector was amber. same stripe things on them and everything. i loved them, but i wanted projectors more than the black ones. they didnt seem to have a moisture problem. i would say that when you get them, stick bulbs in the sockets, and take a high pressure hose to them in the sun. if they start steaming up, then you obviously got yourself a leaky light, and i would tell the seller about it, because this can be considered a defect.
