I have the same pioneer component... I just place them on with the Qlogic kicker panel.

Pretty cool as a space saving idea. I'm waiting to see the finished product like the rest of them though. Why not just mount the amp on the trunk cross-members to maintain air flow?

I can't believe people were hating on this guys work. i think this is a great example of creativity and DIY work. Again, he Did It Y-his self!!!!!! And obviously he hadnt finished it up. Again, excellent job on what appears to be quite the SQ geared setup. Who knows how it sounds, but if you put the same effort into tuning it that you did the physical install than it should sound great. Very clean, and you have complete use of trunk AND the pass thru when the seats are folded. Definitely about the sound and not the bling. nice to see that on this board.
This is the exact same way i plan on installing my frontstage. Searched and searched to see if someone had tried it and never saw your thread. If you have any pics of the actual install process or any details you would like to share i am all ears/eyes. I have 2 different mids i am looking at....one is a 4" comp set, the other is a 6.5" oem speaker made by ID, havent decided on the tweeter. probably something from Seas. The ID speaker has a depth of almost 4" so kinda worried about that. And they are quite heavy so wondering if you had to do any reinforcement? |

I dont think anyone was really hating on him they were just not sure about the idea of cutting into the back seats which usually seems like a very bad idea but IMO it looks like he did a pretty decent job.
It seems to be a nice clean setup.

I think you should. They stick out, and don't match anything else in the car.

will not fit if had them behind the panel....but will not change them cause i love the way they sound (i have had a ton of different speakers before)....unless of course they go bad then i would get some image dymanic components.

6.5's do fit behind the door you just need to buy an adapter.
