I would find a Getreg F23 to bolt up to that 2.4. Get a nice Spec clutch and you are golden. (If you like driving a 5 speed).

The SC for a 99 will require more mods then the factory kit provides. You should do a little research to find out if you want to do the extra work.

so i am doing soem research and apparently when i swap the engine i have to get and engine out of a grand am either early 2000's or older because of the 2.4L transition. i was just curious if anyone knew how early of 2000 i could take an engine out of that would work or if i were to take an engine out of a newer one which modifications would have to be made?

No, the 3400 and 2.4 do not share a bolt pattern.

You *may* be able to use a newer 2.4 in your car. The 99s were kind of transitional. Does your existing 2.4 have EGR?

I don't see why a 2.4 out of any 99-01 GA would not work. To me to do a 2.2 eco swap you will need the complete sub frame out of a GA or alero. And the complete engine harness. Same with the 3400.

Then you're kinda stuck with a '96-'99 (with EGR) engine unless you want to modify stuff.
