anyway i can get oil pan off without lifting engine?? seems like i could but just wondering before i try?? if not its no problem lifting engine...

You just need to remove the bolts around the bottom then the ones in the sides.

two ways, drop the subframe and then wiggle it out. OR Lift the car, support the motor with a cherry picker or similar, loosen motor mounts and lower car enough to wiggle the pan out. It wont come out by just taking the bolts out.

when i did mine, i wound up just lifting the motor, undoing all the bolts and still had somewhat a hell of a time gettin it out...

ya we are doing the subframe one... PITA... i was changing the spring in my wastegate today to something smaller like .5 bar and i lost a bolt i've been looking for it for past hour... its somewhere on my bed, the stop of wastegate flew off from spring ... got all but one damn allen bolt

wow all that stuff that it says in the book, scratch that, it took us approximitly 5 mins to get that oil pan off, another 5 to drill it out. now tomarrow im getting it welded, car is going back together, prepare to see another boosted grand am

i didnt take pic with digital camera, didnt have it with me, but here is where i am at now(little further though) i have both rear and front manifolds on and heads bolted and torqed, along with oil pan is on and ready to go. things are going together pretty smooth.

wrap as much as possible in exhaust wrap. Also if you don't have a turbo blanket I would strongly invest in one.
