Dealership employees busted drag racing new GTR's

http://www.gtrblog.com/index.php/200...livery-?blog=4

Quote:
Could this be true? A pair of brand new pre-delivery GT-Rs at the Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove, WI, USA on the weekend. These cars were still completely covered in interior plastics and are said to have arrived to the drag strip wearing dealer tags.

If it is, surely these can’t be sold to unassuming customers as brand new cars!?

Be careful if you’re buying one of these in Southeastern WI or Northern Illinois/Chicago areas. You will want to verify the delivery mileage as well as general tire condition and so forth.

Thanks to Nick who shot these photos for passing them along to us.

If this is true, these guys are class A stupid (and unemployed )

Edit: One of the dealerships in question has contacted GTRBlog to say that this car was in the hands of a customer at the time of the drag meet. It had just been picked up off the lot. The other car is said to be from a different dealership.

Theres a guy here in Milwaukee who took those pictures. I think they even know what dealer they are from. (not going to mention) Best times the cars ran was 13.2 and the other 12.50 both at 108. I wonder if they turned the traction controll off(voiding warrenty through nissans data logging)

Most sales guys don't give a **** about it- they have a cool story, get to say they drove the car, and will probably find work at a dealership down the road in a week if they do get canned.

after working at a dealership, id never own a car that has been thru a winter at a dealership. cars literally get trashed during winter.
to give you an idea:
when you plow the lot, you hop in the car, turn the key, throw it in drive and gun it... no time to warm up or anything.
speed is everything in working at a dealership, you gotta work fast or you wont last long.

You'd have to be an idiot if you took a freshly bought, not yet broken in, car to the dragstrip...

More to point out:

If the cars are customer bought where's the rear paper tags?

Also, what dealer would hand over the car with the plastic covers still on? They'd take them off before handing over the car as a "courtesy". Not to mention what customer would want to drive around in plastic covered seats? It's your brand new car! You'd want to feel the upholstery.

Edit- Apparently some idiot dealer would. Forgot one claimed it was sold already...
