I had already looked at your site several times.More than likely I will be copying your intercooler piping path. I also plan on cutting the front bumper support where the front license place goes and making a hole for on oil cooler and transmission cooler. I have alot of experience with my old Firebird kit so fabrication wont be a problem. Did you mount your turbo behind the drivers side rear fender well? that is where mine goies |

Ok, I got the Turbo and oil pump mounted this evening! PICS are coming! I am surprised at how good it looks. I won't plumb the hardware until I get my other car running.

I am still having more issues getting my pics online! Sorry for the delay. Now that the turbo and oil pump are secure, I can concentrate on the front of the car. This saturday, the front
fascia comes off and I install the intercooler, oil cooler, and transmission cooler. It is going to be a full day! I will try again tonight to load the camera phone pics so that you can see. There is so much room behind the fender wells under the car that you can throw a party! The BEST part about the build is that neither the turbo, wastegate, or oil pump can be seen. Total Stealth. I am going to place a mudguard flap behind the driver's side rear wheel to enclose the entire system and protect the turbo from splashing road debris.. |

He hasn't quite got everything he needs for the setup yet. I think he's still collecting some of the parts? At least last time I talked to him he was. He's got a new hood that needs some work too, and some other engine bugs he's trying to fix. He had the intercooler and piping just in there all mocked up but not connected to a turbo or anything yet and was just using it and an intake temporarily, but I think he had to disconnect it for some reason. Don't remember why.

THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!! The project is coming together real well. I will get the rest of the pics up tonight. I added a heat shield under the air filter. I am going to take some pics from underneath the car and behind it again. It looks like the turbo belonged there almost as if it were an OEM application.

Ok, later on this week will be pics of the front intercooler and the oil cooler and transmission cooler. Due to the front bumper support, this job wil be a PITA!!!!
My plan is to have the brackets for the intercooler to be tack welded into the metal frame behind the plastic bumper. I am going to cut the front license tag out of the fascia, and use a sawzill, angle grinder, and die grider to fut away a hole in the support for cool air to flow to the oil and transmission coolers. I am going to finally add a chrome painted wire mesh grille over the hole to give it a nice rally (or shoud I say ricer) look! |

Hey! Do you guys need intercooler couplings? Check these out! They are the same ones that STS uses. They are from PUROSIL and you can buy them by the inch and cut them to the length that you ned. My 2 inch charge pipe will use at least five to six of these. They cost about $1.35 per inch,a nd I cut a 3 foot section into three inch pieces for a total of 10 couplers. I ordered these from Delaney & Alf....

Looking good I have a few questions though.
First of all are you going to leave the front bumper open like that? IMO you should put the license plate cover back on for daily driving then take it off at the track. Also in one of the pictures posted above why are their guages right over the top of the stock guages?

To answer your first question... No, I don't want to put a license plate cover over the opening. what you see in that pic is the transmission cooler exposed, and there is a dual pass aluminum oil cooler that looks much like the one here mounted behind it.
http://www.derale.com/heat-sink-coolers.html The second question: The pics are a little blurry, you can't see the oil pressure gauge and volt gauge very clear. On the Grand AM dashboard, directly looking in front of it, there is about three inches of space that a single gauge pod can mount and operate without interferring with the view of the tach, odometer, fuel, speedometer, or other factory gauges. I simply bolted the two gauges to the bezel and ran wires behind the steering wheel.
