tightenin' the e-brake???

ok so i have a 2001 GAGT and my e-brake is a little lose possibly from over use.. but im not sure. so i was wonderin if there was a way i could tighten it up so i get more braking power. i noticed that there isnt really anywhere on the external brake cable for a wrench but maybe i didnt look hard enough. i also noticed that it goes into the body/frame near the back of the driver side door. (2 doorGT). if anyone has knowledge of this being able to be done i would appreciate the help. thanks! - bratthauer

to adjust the ebrake you need to do it at the shoes. the rear brakes are a disk drum style, your main brakes are disk, but your ebrake is drum. I dont remember if there is a acess hole in the rotor or not, you will prob need to pull the rotor and adjust the shoes out farther or replace them.

ya u need to pull the rotor and there is a star wheel thing that expands/contracts the shoe, if u want it TIGHT then adjust the shoes so the rotor is just clearing them (minimal drag) after driving for a min it wont drag anymore and your e-brake will be tight

maybe he has push gates where he lives and that is how he saves his car. Stuff like that is common in Texas.

that would be a brush gaurd that i welded and fabed to put on it. i got angle iron welded to the frame and the the brush gaurd is bolted to that. that way i can take it off for a little bit if i ever want to. bad thing is it bottoms out a little
