If they total it, buy it back and fix it yourself.... cheap car to drive for a few years and $$ in your pocket.

Cliff notes;
Deer killed roadside, Chinese people find it, put it in their vehicle and drive to their restaurant leaving trail of blood from curb to kitchen (they brought it in through the front door).
Old lady sees this, calls police. Police come, find Chinese slicing up Deer.
Police Shut down restaurant.

Now; (nov 5)
Restaurant is re-opening

Place is like 10 mins away from me and I used to eat there all the time with my ex-gf. .
New GF doesn't like chinese... thankfully ;D

I swear, insurance companies have no clue how to properly rate the damage costs for cars. A similar situation happened with my friend's 99 GASE coupe, she ran into the back of another car, the hood buckled, the bumper cover cracked, and the headlights got pushed in. GEICO said it was $5,500 worth of damage, and even wanted to total it out. Bullcrap. She held onto the car, and I know a local body shop, he got ahold of OEM parts (just primed) for his wholesale prices. Now since the frame itself was not bent or damaged, the GA got a new hood, bumper and headlights (I convinced her to get a set of black housings ) all for $630. I installed the parts myself, and three weeks later, after saving up some cash, got the parts painted for a mere $500.

they did paint it. But they did wax the whole car, and did a good job.

If they waxed the whole car, take that **** back. You never wax new paint. You sand with 1500 and polish. That 2900 was waaaayyyy overkill. Those parts at MOST cost 700 and thats list price, and painting isnt that bad for a hood, fender and bumper cover. I worked in a shop for two years, and Im still in the business. GAs never cost that much unless there is frame damage.

x2 on the blending.

Due to the rising cost of electricity, gas, and oil. Plus the condition of the Economy. The Light At the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

Wax, polish i don't know. I just know all of my paint is smooth. 2900 is pretty cheap. I had to get another rad and a/c condenser. So do the math, if the dealer is doing the work.

Yea it been like that for some time. But babdy sandy needs new tie rod ends. Drives a new car for two weeks and then drive your car. My grand am felt like a POS when got it back.

I really thinking about geting one of these.

After driving it for 16 days it grew on me. And it got way way better MPG than the grand am.

You're not supposed to apply any wax/polish to new paint for 3-4 months
