Well, I bet that the manufacturer's curb weight spec between a 99 and 04 GA is greater than 100 lbs, so not sure that really works. And then there is the differences between styles (SE and GT), differences between models (Grand Am, Malibu, Alero), differences between engines and trannies (an 99 2-door SE 4-cyl 5-spd is going to weigh significantly less than a 04 4-door 6-cyl auto).

I'm thinking a whole lot of nothing. Perhaps it now becomes the challenge of 2009.

challenge has been moved to 2009, so that we may have somebody that has the balls to actually win this.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm winning it 2009, by a wide margin.

Hehe, we can still run here in FL.

I highly doubt I'll be running 12's anytime soon though. More like low to mid 13's by the time I'm done tuning and maybe get some DR's. I don't think my current setup is capable of 12's though. Money's tight right now and I'm not really looking to add any of the go-fast hardware that it would take to get into the 12's. I'd need more boost, an intercooler, and/or the addition of nitrous or alky injection probably. And I'm still on stock rotating assembly which I doubt would handle the HP necessary for 12's, so I'd be looking at building the engine too... not any time soon.

edit: it's gonna be tough in this economy right now. I bet a lot of people drop out of this. Sucks... but that's the state of things right now. People don't have as much disposable income anymore.

I agree with that lucky for me I haven't dropped out but I'm only moving at a snails pace

I should be able to hit 12's at my local track when it reopens. I hit 240whp @ 3psi w/ underdrive crank pulley. This was changed out last month and I have a smaller 2.5" & 2.25" supercharger pulley from the stock 3" that should give me a solid 12 second pass (x2).

And thus the bench-racing and trash talking season officially begins!

Uh, no... never has been. I've got everything else, cam and top end wise. Crank, pistons, and rods are all stock and have never been removed.
