Overpriced, maybe. But pretty rare, too. Same reason SuperBees, Judge GTO's, and other cars like them are so pricey... there just aren't too many of them floating around anymore. If you pay over $40k for a Supra, I think you may need to have your head examined, but $25-30k wouldn't be outlandish.
As far as the dyno queen thing, you may be right in some cases, but well-tuned Supras will smoke most anything out there. The coolest thing I've ever seen was a Supra hit over 1000 hp on a dyno at a car show a few summers ago. My jaw dropped. The guy had an ridiculous amount of cash in the car, but still.... 1000 horses? ![]()

there is a girl who has and 3.4 stroker on boost only and at the beginning of the run she dropped a cylinder and still hit 1400 rwhp the car is insane but unfortunately that car is a show queen and never sees streets or tracks.
i will most likely be looking around the 30k mark for mine. but who knows when the time comes. |

Supras tend to be overpriced, especially when modded because, the big shops that put them together tend to put together rediculously stout motors that are reliable as hell.
Doing a big power 2jz isn't a $10,000 build. They tend to be much much pricier.

I had my GA since December of 2001. It's at 150k miles right now. Either late this year, or next year, it will be time for a new car.
Right now, I really want to get a certified used 07-08 Acura TL or 07-08 Audi A4. I am in my late 20's and it's time for me to get something "nice", but I definitely want some more power than my GA. I dunno about reliability of those 2 cars though. If I am considering those 2, it is gonna be a hard decision. |

Well I have my 5 Series now and in the future I'd probably look at a CTS/STS or another 5-Series.

I've seen a few supras on the road now and then, but everytime I see them I think of this one I saw at the track. Thing sat on the line for a solid 15 seconds AFTER the tree dropped, simply spooling up the turbo. Once spooled it ran like a 10 or 11 quarter. Car like that is useless on a road course.
The 370z isn't a bad choice, but like the 350z its all about raw power rather than control. The manual on the 370 has a feature that eliminates the need for heel-toe shifting which is interesting but kinda disheartening that another driving skill is beginning to become outdated. I'm still sticking with an Rx-8 or maybe the next gen model with the 16x rotary engine in it. Depends on how much money I have and how the new model performs.
