well when i put the lucas stuff in i only put half the bottle in and for right now it works great, but yes the viscosity of the lucas is 48 but you also have to look that you are mixing that into about 6 quarts or however much the tranny holds, so in the end you are only increases the vicosity of the tranny fuild already in their. which it most likely will have a lower vicosity because its not brand new trannsmission fuild. so to me it is only renewing the viscosity of the tranny fuild without replaceing the fuild. which to some may not be a great idea but to others may be an ok choice since for me i have 168000 miles on my car.

If you change your transmission fluid every 50k miles I dont think you will have problems with your transmission unless you beat the **** out of your car. The owners manual says every 50k, I've followed the maintenance schedule down to the "T" since day one when I bought my car brand new, a year after I graduated high school. I now have 116k miles on my car.
