That technique, while being one of the only ways to get you out of FWD oversteer trouble, can get you into some very uncontrollable territory. Try that on wet pavement as you slide off the road or into a barrier. FWD sucks and FWD that will bite you in the azz is even worse.

The whole idea is not to drive too fast in uncontrolled environments, right?

There are different techniques for different scenarios......but if you oversteer on the street, that's a pretty good signal to slow the eff down. Thankfully, on safe racetracks, there's usually a decent amount of run-off if you overcook a turn.
Foot off the gas, don't stab the brakes, steer in the direction of the slide.

Icy snowy surface great way to hit the curb or worse, your tires spinning just allows more slipping.

On anything your driving this is good advice, though there are lots of exceptions.

Watch this GA with a blower lose the back end...I bet he has just the rear Speedbuilt sway bar.

wow looks like he needs to steer into it and punch it but that is on a dry surface and with that extra sway bar.

Or maybe one of the old RAT rear swaybars (solid 1" thick). Coupled with a stock front bar, the RAT bar made the car a handful.
