I'll keep it humble, something which can afford, decently reliable, and the one that gets gr8 mileage.

That's all imp for me.

My wife has an '04 Saab 9-3. It's got a phenomenal engine and transmission, gets great gas mileage, and handles corners really well, but they are outrageously expensive to fix. Small things go wrong with them constantly and the parts are not cheap at all. Only Saab certified technicians can do intensive work to them and they run about $90-100 an hour in labor charges. Not to mention, you can't do anything to the audio system other than changing the speakers. Everything is wired in together using fiber optic lines and the parts typically fail. There is an amp/sound processor under the driver's seat called AMP1. It is known for failure (which my wife's already has). It controlls the power and frequency range to the two door speakers and the center channel speaker. You can't replace it with an aftermarket because of the fiber optic line and it's $1100 to replace it from the factory. That doesn't even include installation.

Just to give you an idea, about a year ago, my wife's car went to the dealership for inspection, emissions, tire rotation, two new ends on the headlight wiring, and rear rotors and pads. $877 and a week later, we brought it home. They're great cars when they're working properly, but I'd advise against Saab right now. The cars don't keep their value and they're maintenance queens. Not to mention Saab just declare for bankruptcy last week...

The only reason why I am considering one is because of the bankruptcy situation. The cars will take a huge hit at auction, which is where I will be getting the car from anyways, so depreciation isn't a huge factor to me right now. But yeah, I know they are hella expensive to fix, which is why I think they are number 2 on my list... with the G6 GTP coupe being number one as of right now.

Hopefully I'm going to be able to afford to buy the MKZ after the lease is up in 2010.. That's if this economy turns around so I can get a job after I graduate. Stay at home, pay off the MKZ.. keep the GA either for a winter car or keep investing money in it and make it a classic who knows

Talk to GTLUVA

I'm starting to like the 2wd TB's more and more, in modability (if I choose to), price, and utility. I'm thinkin' SS conversion would be cool

Sorry that your offended but your own Matt folk ruin it for you. As far as AWD and American I love my Fusion, its fast enough for point a to point b and has enough HP to mess around. Only downside I see with it is the 6 speed auto, I'm getting the halix computer re tune soon so I can have it shift faster and have the auto start actually start further then 300 ft I want it to go to the max range of 15xxft.

SECOND PLACE:

2009 Saab 9-3 Aero XWD

The 9-3 is finally available with Saab's first AWD system in the firm's 60 years of making cars. Dubbed XWD – or Cross Wheel Drive in Saabspeak – the exclusive-to-Saab fourth-generation Haldex system turns the normally torque-torn front-drive 9-3 into a better-balanced foul-weather driving machine.

The drivetrain sends power (up to 90 per cent) to the rear wheels, where a limited-slip differential can lock the rear differential as needed. It allows drivers to easily engage in controlled, four-wheel drifts without the system's integrated e-nannies cutting in and spoiling the fun.

But the 9-3 Aero (as-tested $49,345 Cdn) isn't only about practising your best snow rally drifting moves.

Its turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 pumps out 280 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque – the most power of this trio, making it the quickest from 0-to-100 km/h in 6.9 seconds (0.2 and 0.4 seconds quicker than the Audi and Benz, respectively).

The downside? The Saab sucks the most dino juice: City 13.98 L/100 km, hwy 8.3 (20 m.p.g., 34 m.p.g.). <- Miles per imperial gallon

Beyond its hot-rod tail-out proclivities, the 9-3 Aero XWD's supportive front seats, light but accurate steering, and quiet and composed ride over pothole ravaged Canadian roads makes it an easy car to live with day to day, season to season.

WHY BUY? Torque finally meets traction; nice balance of ride and handling.

WHY NOT? Relatively thirsty; the GM brand's uncertain financial future isn't helping Saab's residual values.

Ha, I'm definitely in the market for a used something-- that car will likely be $40-something here... I'm in the market for a $10-14k ride. This is a recession, dammit!

Besides, I'm liking the 2WD TB more and more, just in terms of being able to haul stuff when I need to, tow stuff when I want, and if I need to replace something there are parts all over the place to fix it.

2wd is gonna be pretty bad if you stay where there's snow. Its not like the 4wd ones are that much more. And yea, between the sled, jetskis and fourwheeler, im ready to move onto a truck as well. Hopefully I can swing something decent this summer.

Between the traction control system, and my ability to not suck at driving, I'm really not too concerned. I may throw some winter tires on there, and it'll be fine. I know guys who drive their GTO's in the winter with no issue. The 4wd isn't necessary on a truck that heavy IMO, and when I drove my mom's TB back in the day with Auto 4WD, I never even turned it on in the winter. The 2wd will get better gas mileage, and have less parts that could potentially break, too.
