G6 gt coupe

My 2004 Grand am Gt is in excellent shape with 71,000 miles on it. I still owe $8,000 and because of my credit I pay $343.00 a month! I am looking at a 2007 G6 gt coupe with 18,000 miles. What I am wondering is if my fiancee(she has excellent credit)co signs and we take the loan out for the longest time possible. Can I get my payment close to what I am paying for a 5year old Grand Am? I know I will have negative equity on the Ga cuz I will never get $8000 on a trade. I will also put down $800-$1000. The car is listed at $15000 but I think I can talk them down a little. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful. I am trying to convince her, but she does not seem interested. I am telling her the car still has the factory warranty, I am also telling her how much I lover her! Hey whatever works.

If the grand am is still running fine, don't do it. Getting upside down on a car payment like that is one of the dummest things you can do financially. I have a couple of friends who have done it and are seriously regretting it.

Stupid financial decisions + Using "love" to "convince" her to risk a lot = You getting a black eye.

How much are White GTP sedans w/leather and all other possible goodies? I kinda want one, for no real reason.

plus i'd ask where the car came from; i.e. local trade, lease turn in, auction (so could be a rental car).

I was actually looking at them a lil while ago; in good condition, with 15-25k miles, you can get an 2006 MSRP $28k GTP for around 12-14k. Remember though, this is auction price, so unless you know the right people the car will be 2-3k more through the dealer.

No problem. My guess is that the value of these cars will continue to decrease in the very short term, as GM's future is still unsure. Once they know (by the end of March) if they'll be around in the same capacity that they currently are, the values will slowly increase again.

I think I mentioned here that I was considering a GTP, but they really aren't practical for someone like me.
