Another Waste Money.

Atleast put a Vin# on it and Use it as "Business Car/Demo" No sense in destroying a Pre-production car its the same as a Production car for the most part.

Well, I think that was a special case car. A lot of times, they'll use them as press cars knowing they'll get the piss beat outta them, and then they sell them as "off road" vehicles, which cannot be titled. They usually end up with drag racing teams and the like.

The one you were driving... was it DOT approved and everything? Like for crash ratings? I could see that as a reason why it's not allowed to be sold

Most of these cars could easily be sold... especially this one. The Camaro has gone through more testing than just about any GM car, ever. They call it preproduciton because it basically means only employees can drive them, and they are expected to turn in a report every week with any issues or problems they discovered. A car like this may actually be sold, as long as no problems are found across the board and nothing is changed. I wouldn't be surprised if GM recently changed its policy on proprod units... it makes more sense to spend the money on R&D than it does in trial and error (even though it is effective).
