I second the statement about having four doors in school. I had my coupe all through college, and it was a PITA to pack my stuff in it or go anywhere with more than 2 people. I love the sportiness of it, but practicality is the name of the game for me now. We'll be starting to have little ones in the next two years or so and I need more space and more safety... but I still want to be able to go fast.

Ah, the Liberty. It's much smaller than I thought after I was actually in one. Seems cheaply made and the gas mileage is atrocious. However, it's still a capable off-road vehicle with the right mods and it doesn't look terrible, either.

BOOTMASTER hey everyone, I'm a newb!
i'm looking to get a c3 or c4 corvette next summer to hot rod the snot out of, got to re-fi the house first and by then i'll be a few months from paying off the ga... ill keep the ga as a dd till it truely dies or i get tired of fixing it, but parts are getting cheaper and easier to find every day and its lasted 175k so far, albiet with two tranny swaps and lim x2...

i would also consider another celica, once the ga is paid off, as a daily driver, my 91 that i had before the ga lasted forever without issue. not sure of the exact mileage cause the odometer quit around 233k and i drove if for another year putting a TON of miles on it regularly.... i was driving dumb one night, missed a 4-5 shift at redline subbing in a 4-3 and put a piston through the side of the block..... ooops

btw: someone said something about business finical people making more than engineers? (could be true, not sure) but that seems wierd, my girl is an ee and makes 110k+ a year and has offers from other companies for much more.... i can't wait to finally finish my MechEng degree and get in that finicial boat

she just got a 4banger 08 g6, traded her 05 saab 9-3 for it (the stuff about repairs is SO TRUE)... really likes it and i don't think its bad at all.... she wants a 68/9 gto judge in the future, so i'm keeping my eye out for a LeMans around there to convert to a judge.... want to put a new gto drivetrain in it as well for power and reliability...

as for the tundra's, my buddy got a new 08, and it kicks ass, LOTS of power.... and he hasn't had a single issue with it... got it in late 07 or so...

You think the GA is outdated, Under powered. This thing is worse. Ranger hasn' t changed since 1997. Other then the Front End sheet metal.

Thanks for the back-up on the Tundra. I just saw the guys on Spike's "Trucks!" put a 6-inch lift, a power programmer, and a CAI on one this past weekend. Unreal. Can't wait to actually be able to afford one...

I'm impressed with the size of this thread. Never really thought it'd get this big!

Wouldn't be buying a truck for its power, just for its ability.

x2. My brother-in-law had a '94 Ranger regular cab short bed. Tiny little thing, but he never did ANY maintenance on it besides the occasional oil change and routine stuff like brake pads and rotors. He'd go 6-7,000 miles sometimes without changing the oil and it never skipped a beat. He did say the clutch could have used replacing, but it still worked fine. He drove it for over 10 years and it had 220,000 miles on it when he traded it in last fall for a used '07 Toyota Tacoma double cab. He still got $800 out of it even though it was rusty and the interior was chewed up. I'm not a big fan of Ford in general, but I'm pretty sure that little 4-banger engine and tranny would match or beat anything that's out there right now as far as longevity.

yah the only fords i like are ford trucks. the ranger and f-150 last along time till you have to replace parts. my dads 97 f-150 has over 270,000 on it and the only repair stuff he had to do is the drive shaft fell out in our drive way at around 250,000 miles. and my moms 04 f-150 has almost 70,000 and has no problems and rides like its brand new. almost like a car, its funny my dad considers my moms truck a car cause he's been driving a 03 f-550 alot lately almost as a dd

There is no doubt about it.... that is BY FAR the coolest video I've ever seen in my life. Quite possibly some of the most amazing driving I've ever seen. Plus the fact that it's AWD and he was doing that. The dude on the Segue was clutch...

I'm sorry, but there's nothing better than the sound of a modded Subaru engine.
