About to purchase a 2006 Pontiac G5/Pursuit coupe....feelings?

So ive finally had enough of the grand am and ive decided to purchase a new car. Since im planning on getting engaged this year, the savings are going up and up so i can't afford to purchase anything really nice right now.
But i landed on a 2006 Pontiac Pursuit coupe in Fusion orange and after doing some research and looking at the aftermarket (and figuring our what the 2.2L L61 engine is capable of) I've decided that this car is a good deal.
It has 78,000KM and is priced at $8,800 (i was iffy on the price so the dealer threw in new 16inch rims and tires)
What have you guys heard about this car? The research ive found is limited but everything seems to be pointing in the right direction.
Does anyone else have a Pontiac G5?

all comments are welcome!

I didnt think i would like it but after driving it, loving the interior and seeing that is has a giant aftermarket, i think its a pretty good deal for the price!
I really love the interior! and the colour!

Not bad but I never quite understood how buying a new car and modding it will save more money than keeping the GA.

Looks pretty nice. I've never really seen what the G5's looked inside.

cause the GA is on it's LAST legs...I honestly give it a month or 2 till it dies! And im not going to start modding it right away. It takes time...Only thing i'll probably do this year (if i get it) would be lowering and MAYBE rims. Probably more likely a drop and tint.

Haven't heard much about it. Not a huge fan. Your insurance could possible go up alittle. Cobalt/G5 have a not so great crash rating.

You could also look at a Used Galant. I'm in the same boat as you with a wedding and all. I picked up my Girl's 05 Galant with 49K on it for about 10k Before TTL.

I've owned two Cobalts which are the same as the G5. The first one had no real issues at all in the 48k I drove it. Only a steering shaft knock and a phantom ABS light that'd go away if you cycled the key. No issues otherwise.

The second cobalt is a 2.4 SS Coupe. Its been equally as reliable and I expect it to last well past 150k miles.

Edit: Try and find one with a 5 speed. The automatic cars really suck at accelerating. The manual is geared more aggressively, gets better mileage (I measured 37mpg highway a few times) and has alot less to break. Not to mention its $6-700 cheaper.

If you really want to take care of your needs. Try and pick up one with the Pioneer 7 speaker audio. Its really really good for stock and easily modded if you don't like it.

Two posts, he even posts pictures and you still think it's a G6 and don't realize it's a G5...
