HTH do you paint the door panel like that?

I know I want to paint the cubby on each door, but it looks like I'm going ot have to cut off the plastic "mushrooms" that they have on them and then epoxy them back onto the doors.

is that leather panel a separate piece from the door panel and if it is, is it easy to remove?

So, Im looking to install a push button engine start. I dont care if I have to use my Key and turn it to the on position. Do you have the steps to install this button? Do I need to just hook up the starter wire to the button?
