Has the official release date come and gone for them or what?Everyone I ask and every site I go to find out seems old or just "sometime early 2009." I would've thought I'd see a few on the road by now. In this area of the country, for whatever reason, I tend to see a lot of new cars on the road before I read about other area's seeing them.
A chevy dealer around me is supposed to recieve their first one this week.

They had an SS there also but it was inside. Bad lighting and too many people made it difficult to grab some decent shots. A salesman was telling me about a "Callaway performance package" coming out for it though. IIRC suspension, brake, body kit and the engine kit (somewhere in the ballpark of 560 hp) is soon to debut at ~$60k

WTF is up with the gauge placement, you certainly do not want to take your eyes off the road to see those.

Nastalgia (sp?) a lot of 60/70's cars had the gauges located in front of the shifter.

The interior isn't doing it for me. I'll save final judgement until I see one in person.

Bot the new Camaro and the Challenger are NOTHING MORE THAN a RETRO LOOK! As far as the Camaro it's more along having bits and pieces of the look from a 69 Camaro. Prices are RIDICULOUS in the first place, niether the Camaro nor the Challenger are worth the prices they are asking!!!! I thought Chevrolet wanted to COMPETE with Ford and their Mustang! Hell for a base V6 model Mustang it's starts at $15,000!!!! Whereas the Camaro starts at $24,000 for an LS model!!!!

You want to appreciate a REAL Camaro find a local car show and LOOK for the first generation Camaros, 67-69, take a close look at them and see the styling details that Chevrolet used in styling the new Camaro.

The interior for the new ones could've been done better, some of the dash seems out of place with the overall look. I feel they should've modeled the dash more in the look of an original 69 in the shape rather than the rounded sloping dash that extends to the passenger side.

Still I wouldn't mind a new Camaro but can't get past the prices listed on them!!!

I could find a 69 Camaro CHEAPER than a new one and have MORE FUN with it!!!!

I would take a CTS-V over this car as well ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. Better looking car and better performing in every aspect....plus it has 4-doors and can be a luxurious DD. Until the other day, I didn't know I could get a new CTS-V at GMS price for $58k. I thought they were like $75k

(these cars are about 90 grand in canada opposed to a camaro ss that is 36-41 grand)
BTW a v6 camaro in canada starts at 24 grand(the same price as the mustang) so i dont know why anyone is thinking the camaro is way more money because it is not..

i have no clue why anyone is comparing a caddy which is worth double what the camaro is?? If you compare a camaro ss to its rivals the mustang gt-500 and the challenger rt it is cheaper than both of them and outperforms both of them too. That challenger V6 version is pathetic.. It is slower than some SUV's.. christ a grand am would almost keep up with it the thing is so heavy

Camaro = muscle car.. never was and never will be luxurious, gets you way more looks than a caddy ever will, way more pu**y and way more attention from the cops

caddy = family pimp car.. built for the luxurious person that still wants the power of a sports car.. maybe that guy that wants a sleeper car to work over the mustangs on the street.. will get you laid by gold diggers and then they will take half of it when they divorce you haha

thats my take on the 2.. both nice cars but built for 2 completely different types of people

An 09 Mustang V6 starting price is around $17,000.00, but the 2010 Mustang is showing around the same starting price as the Camaro.

You're right there's no comparison from a Camaro to a Caddy CTS, hmm CTS powered by the same drivetrain in a Corvette, but the CTS is not a Pony car like the Camaro has always been known as since it and the Mustang's inception in the 60's. Besides the new Camaro is just a taste of styling from a 69 Camaro and not a RETRO car like the Challenger and Mustang. Chevrolet didn't want to follow in with doing an actual retro car just give design aspects from the first generation Camaros with an updated today look on a Pony car to compete with Mustang and Challenger. Overall between the three the Camaro still looks better overall compared to a Challenger or Mustang.

It's like comparing apples to oranges when you mention Camaro and CTS, totally two different styles of autos.

Even w/o the s/c the CTS-V would be a superior performing tank.

Did I mention I'm 25?

I'm comparing the caddy because........

I can get a used CTSV for less than a Camaro SS and get more.

****, I get more value, and bang for my buck w/ my truck than I would w/ the new Camaro.

The V6 Camaro has almost the same power as the GT Mustang, plus better tech (IRS)

Have yet to see an SS, but a lady at a car show a couple of weeks ago had a new V6 model. First one I have seen in person. I like it more now.

Pictures don't do it justice, you have to see it in person to get the full effect of all the body lines, IMO the car is beautiful !!!

Ugh, and I trashed the Challenger's interior design... A dealership downtown has one on display, gonna go check it out when I have time....
