Getting a DHP, weeeeeeeeeee

Anyways, ill get to the point, spoke with Jason today from DHP and i was selected to get the DHP done to my car, going to Detroit on the 15th of March, we talked for a bit about the car, and he said it wouldnt be a problem at all that the car is boosted, and would actually be cool to see. Anyways, i mentioned you guys, and said how much we need this, and how much hidden HP there is from having the stock PCM. So i will let you guys know how it goes. btw, the 5 of the selected only have to pay 150 to help out the Dyno rental. And the regular custom DHP cost about 500. So there is a huge saving. Anyways. we finally got our wish!!! Watch out RSM, we have a upgraded PCM now too!!!

and here is his e-mail address, mailto:dhp@3800performance.com

As far as i know, 98-99-02 are now full, so 00/s and 01/s may have a chance unless someone with that year already talked to him.

Let me know what he says

and your goin too mfuller? Are you getting the DHP put on or just doing custom tuning yourself? Im going to be goin up there the 15th of March, im going to get up really early and drive there. Let me know what time your leaving.

I spoke to Jason over the phone yesterday, and I will be having DHP tune my car. He indicated that although his request was for Grand Ams, they certainly wouldn't turn me away (DHP also tuned homegrown's turbo'd Alero V6). Besides, I know of many Alero owners (just as there are many GA owners) who are looking for a PCM solution. Anyway, Jason said he'd e-mail me the details, although he hasn't indicated yet which day he could accomodate me. I'd be more than willing to drive up there with you on the 15th if that is the day Jason requests that I be there.

Even as a guy with boost I agree....

uhmmm, these people are getting it for $150 and they live nearbye. Me & others would have to drive there or ship it out and pay $500 at a later date.

Mmmm, no thanks. probably wasn't wise that someone said what cost and such would be.

I think thats ~500 for custom chip for you, dyno tuned. That's not half bad considering what places like SLP charge for that (not for our cars, obviously)... If you wanna play you gotta pay

They still will offer a "generic" repgorammed PCM for something more in the price range of 300 I assume, there's plenty of DHP info on clubgp.

I talked to Jason a couple days ago and he said the starting price will be a little over $200 but there are no promises yet.

Let's not even discuss the "price" yet... it's waaaay too early.

If this chip is dyno created, dyno tuned and spec'ed out is worth more than the ASE and JET. They just raise the parameters (change them) within a deviation that should relinquish more power. Their enhancements are CRUDE compared to what DHP is talking about. They will fill the valleys of lost HP/TQ, that is what counts, you can gain 10-15% HP/TQ at 6500RPM, but an increase across the powerband is MUCH MORE productive.

This is what the Magna Charged cars have waited for since day 1!
This is the key to consistent low 14's with the Magna Charger...

$150 is probably just for the dyno time. Not for the reprogram. That's what I paid for my dyno time, plus I paid $100 for Dave to start working on the program. And that was just for the tranny tune. We haven't started working on the engine yet. I'll be doing that this spring at which time I'll pay him for the rest, plus I'll need more dyno time. I can't wait. Need more power to break into the 13's! So what dyno shop will you guys be going too? I haven't met Jason from DHP yet, and I'd like to get together and meet everyone. Hopefully I'll be home on the 15th. I know I'll be home by the 3rd week of march for sure. Got lots of parts sitting in my room waiting to go on the car.

150 is for the dyno time, but the programing is free. He is using our cars to record the readings, to mass produce them. =)
