A guy fat enough to make up the weight difference wouldn't fit in our seats anyways, so it's better that they are removed.

Read a little he said it was a stock 3400 on 10psi if you don't like it then go out and beat it...

As far as I'm concerned Milzy owns the fastest grand am on this site.

the point is he got there by turning the car into a track only car... the only way any of us will give him any kind of respect for this is if he dynos the car and puts down respectable #'s and even then I think there will be plenty of people out there who are making more power.

now if he ran a 12 in a car that weighed in at a close to stock # then maybe we would care but the fact is the car only weighs 2600lbs which is 600-700lbs lighter than anything the rest of the GA owners on this site are driving

running only a 12 in the car is actually pretty sad for all the work done.. low 11's - high 10's and I might actually give it some respect however at this point it barely deserves mentioning in my book

Can this be cleaned up again? There's like 2 pages of worthless crap here. This is Aaron's thread and Aarons rules. He gets the final decision with the list. If you don't like it make your own thread. Stop cluttering this one up.

Milzy's Race Car

I am moving the posts from the 1/4 time thread so that we can hopefully keep that thread cleaned up and on topic. Any discussion or comments regarding the MMS Grand Am may be posted in here.

Everyone wants to blast him for making a "track only" car, when I really dont see anyone else coming any where close to his #s... street legal or not. I do think a street legal 3400GA that ran in the 12s would be cooler, but I don't see that happening right now... do you?

If you think his car is BS, then strip down your car, put some slicks on it (hire a Jockey if your so inclined) and have at it. I don't think anyone has room to knock him until their car can do something faster and better.

I dont think the traction bars took a whole sec off his car. I bet he would still run a 12.99 or better with an interior and no bars. ... but that just my opinion.

All I say is, dont talk crap enless you can back it up.

Um...you do realize that there there are GA's jsut as fast and ARE street legal correct? And members on this board- or did you not read the other thread?

I can see Schweppe or Spy knocking the weight down to 2600 lbs. and beating his time easily.

Either way still love the car.

I see Schweppe went 12.9... but thats still not 12.3. I have read a lot of the threads on here and I have never seen any real evidence that Schweppe's car was street legal. Is there? If not for the traction bars and Mike telling us, we would have never known if his car was legal or not.

I hope Schweppe keeps building and goes <12.3. The faster the better.

I am all about seeing GAs (especially 3400s) go as fast as possible. No matter the car condition.

I was only refering apples to apples... 3400 vs 3400. There is no point in comparing cars with different engines, especially when it comes to racing.

That being said... I do think Spy had/has the best GA when it came to racing. He took a 4cyl and still spanked all the V6s for a long time. Major props to him.

say milzy's car is 600-700 lbs lighter than schweppe's(sp?) car. its a general rule of thumb that 100 lbs is a 1/10th of a sec, i think we can all do the math.

I think with the right transmission any turbo ga will runs 12s with at least 10 pounds, honestly no first gear and i traped 103 with a ****y 60 ft when my car pulls 2.0-2.1 60 ft stock 60 ft ... easily low 13s... 12s are easy with the right build transmission stock internals with possibly upgraded valve springs.

IMO, it's great that Milzy built a FWD GA drag car. Too bad it wasn't done when the cars were still in production. I don't think his numbers are the most impressive given the weight but do believe they will improve as he gets it dialed in. As for the wheelie / pre-load / whateverthehellyouwanttocallthem bars, he has taken them off for now and has since ran a 12.1.

I am just happy to see someone hitting new numbers with this engine and hope that more people get interested in the GA & 60V6. More interest creates the demand for more parts which helps bring costs down. It's good for everyone.
