Holden haters do not click here

From the G8 Board: Aussie Envy: HSV E Series 2 lineup unveiled

Article here: http://www.autoblog.com/2009/09/09/a...neup-unveiled/

Quote:
Just as wounds from the Pontiac G8 being ripped from us are beginning to scar over, HSV has torn them open anew by revealing version 2.0 of its Commodore-based E Series lineup.
It's facelifts all around for the gang of Aussie stoplight brawlers, four of which – The GTS, Maloo R8, ClubSport R8 and ClubSport R8 Tourer – even get the erstwhile Poncho's twin-scoop hood.
The more luxurious Senator Signature and long-wheelbase Grange models have smooth hoods and less overall ornamentation.
Either one would have made a sublime performance Buick, but oh well...

Check out what the Holden is doing with their HSV versions !!!

This is what USA/Canada does not get from GM

This is what happens when customers actually pay for their cars, & the manufacturer makes money selling them.
(Unlike every Pontiac G8 sold this year in Canada costing GM to lose money.
How do you sell a Holden VE Commodore SS for $50K AUD, but sell a Pontiac G8 GT in Canada for $40K Cdn.
& then give it a cash price instant rebate of $7500 Cdn.)

I wonder how much it would be to ship one of those over to the US. Is it even legal?
Can you imagine owning one of these in the states? Holden Commodores and Vauxhall VXR8s **** on G8s, not to mention anything else on these god forsaken roads.

I need to move to Australia...

Holdens are pure sex. GM needs to just bring the Holden brand here and sell them exactly the same as they are down under, no changes.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure that Australia has a pretty strict export law in regards to cars, making it extremely difficult to get a Holden out of the country. I have relatives in Australia. I may have to go live with them for a while.

U.S. Citizens and car enthusiasts had their chance to purchase this car. They didn't. In fact, you can buy a brand new leftover right now for $27k nd they can still be found.

What is it with Holden and their ugly spaceship wheels????

That's because they brought it over in the middle of a financial crisis when no one was spending money. I know if I had the money to buy one right now I would. I sure haven't seen one anywhere around here for $27k though.

that "green thing" would destroy most vehicles around here.. I saw it on top gear and it was doing drag times as fast as a supercharged audi. I think it had 415hp or more. 6.2 l V8 i remember..The one they had on the show was blue though and looked a little nicer..

edit.. oh here it is..

And here is the video with it against a Vauxhaul Bathurst Edition in a race.. It does the lap as fast as an Austin Martin DB9 which is not cheap at all.. The 2nd video is the full 10 min video where it shows the Vauxhaul and the Maloo(El Camino).. The Supercharger whine is super nuts on the Vauxhaul.. would turn so many heads over here.

excuses excuses. When the car came over for its initial release it was a top 10 seller its first couple months, then it fell off the face of the earth. Also, Camaro was just released in the hardest of the economic times and it is selling like hotcakes.

GM Supplier is available to just about everyone + a $4000 rebate. That gets you in $27k range. For me and others with GMS, we can buy one for $26k brand new (GT model).

Private party, used 2008 model's can be had for $18-19k if you look hard enough. Now that....is terrible resale.

P.S. In other news, only 19,000 Corvette's have been sold for last model year according to Corvetteblog.. YIKES!
