What about 2006's? Should I stay away from the first model year?

'06 is still a good year for the STS. Alot of the tech like passive keyless had been around in the XLR.

I doubt you'll find too many of them at auction. For the most part, any STS in good condition is going to be re-sold at the dealership to which it was traded. If you see an STS V8 going for cheap at auction, be vary wary... Those pesky Northstars and their headgasket/lower crankcase leaks could be dropping the value for quite a bit.

yeah, i was actually surprised at how high the prices of off lease were... a good condition is going thru auction at ~22-24k.

If I do snag one, it'll likely be a non-off lease car, something that was traded in or something.

you have someone who can buy cars for you at auctions?

How about someone who can get a listing of what the most recent model of car went for at auction?

if you know any dealers fairly well, they'll buy you any car you want from auction without too much profit. i know where i work will do it.
its hard to believe just how many cars dealers buy at dealerships every month...

Yeah, what i have access to can list what a certain model has been going thru auction at for the past X months. Only works for cars leased thru GMAC.

yeah, our family friends usually only make us cover the admin fees on any car we get thru auction since my dad sends them so much business.

hmmm, sweet. Can you provide me a listing later on when I am ready to buy something? That way I can tell prospective seller's to cram it up there ass when I see the ridiculous price they want for their car and say "That's what they are going for."

Anyways, I like the styling of an STS, and frankly can't afford the more "youthful" CTS (I liked the styling of the original CTS when it came out, but they now look dated, so I'd only want the most recent body style if I got one). I also like the under-the-radar performance and luxury of the STS. Not onnly that, but a Cadillac will hold a higher residual value than my Trailblazer.

I just have the I6, LS, not the SS. I love it just fine, but when I commute 80miles per day, 20mpg is silly.
