Shark fin on roof.

So today I was at my local tire shop where I always go to switch over my tires, and I seen a nice silver BMW coupe sitting outside. I stared at it for a while and I started to wonder.

Has anyone ever tried to put a BMW shark fin on the roof of a GA? I thought it might look good near the back, but was having a hard time visualizing it.

Thoughts? Discuss please folks!

idk, i personally like the "in the glass" type. that way you have no stupid antenna sticking up anywhere on the car.

Buy the lame fake antennas from Autozone. Sounds like you'd like the whole lineup of ghey they have to offer.

Everyone does the same things, and then says "oh look oh look, I did what the other 10,000 GA owners did" Before you go calling it "ghey" [ChaosweaveR] maybe your better off not saying anything at all. When people come up with an idea, or ask for a discussion, be constructive...it's really not that difficult.

I am trying to make this car into something no one else really has. Yes, I have a 5 ft tall CB antenna hanging off my trunk lid, but, only one other member on here can say that, it seems no one wants to be unique anymore.

ANYWAYS...is there anyone here willing to try and photoshop that? I think it might not look to bad, on the right GA, then again it might look hideous who knows. I usually can picture things in my head very well but I can't really picture this.

It'll look stupid because it is. Making it functional will be a lot of work, and it's not worth it just because you like the look of it on a BMW. GA's don't need a whole bunch of extra crap to look "unique". Less is more when it comes to complimenting the style of the GA, not adding focking antennas to the roof.

Imm gunna do it using a monte carlo antenna and its not gunna be that hard. A handmade rubber gaskat and washer bolt it down, wire it up. Easy as ****

I'd rather not drill holes in my roof where I can get potential water leaks/rust out.

I have a powered hidden antenna from autoloc on the inside of my windshield, since I shaved the stock antenna, and it gets awesome reception and you can't see it.

I don't know how well the reception would be, the eclipse deck in the 3 series does not get very good fm reception with that antenna.

However I know gm went with that type of antenna on later models so I dont think it would look stupid.

The one on the BMW is local and Sat radio. The red one in my pic is Sirius ready and the antenna in plug on the original radio is the exact same as the Sirius unit.

Wish I could remember the model # of the BMW I saw. The fin was longer than what is on the GM and the red car shown above, the longer one makes it look better IMO.

I wouldn't put it at the front tho, I'd be back center for me. I'm on my blackberry or I'd do it myself but can someone post a picture of a monte carlo? Those are a bit longer and look more functional.
