FS: Custom Build Stereo Trunk Setup...(Price Drop, again, $300)
I removed my system this past weekend. I was hoping to leave it but I decided it would suit one of you better. It has a simple box for 2 12s, a front trim piece, rear trim piece, amp board to mount to the spare tire board, 2 amp trim pieces to go on top, 2 side trim pieces that hold CAPS (Not included), and matching carpet to adhere to the trunk liner under the scuff plate (the removable plastic trim). For the carpet I used some 3M spray to hold and it worked out great. I would suggest doing that again
All panels have been wrapped in matching carpet that is on the rear deck. The trunk liner itself is a different material so I will include the same pieces I used. You SWEAR it is factory. The Clear Plex has an "ALPINE" etched sitcker. It can be taken off if needed. Do NOT scrape it off with a razor. Use your finger nail. I am keeping the subs and selling this trunk setup as one "piece" as it is tailored to a Grand Am. It will fit ANY 99-05 Grand Am. All in all the box screws down to the spare tire cover and is held in place with the pinch weld on the rear seat. The trim piece screws on the front and replaces the rear deak plastic trim. The rear trim simply glues in place with some RTV. The Amp board also screws down to the spare tire cover. The amp cover boards are a frictionfit on top of the amps. Finally, the 2 side trim pieces screw to the sheet metal structure of the trunk. The entire system is held in place with 11 screws and the 4 original press plugs on the rear deck. It took me an hour to remove because off all the wiring but honestly it would take you less than that to install it. I have all the screws and brackets saved which can be reused or you can decide to use something else. As far as price....Shipping is going to be a pain. I would prefer NOT to ship it as these pieces are BIG and HEAVY. Two words that UPS and FEDEX love to hear because it means more $$$. The best way for me to works this is to have someone bring their car to my place. I would install it for them. I prefer to do it that way. If it works out that way I will work out the price with the buyer. Asking $300 installed for just the BOX and trim pieces. I will even wire it up. I can negotiate on my caps and wiring as well if the buyer is interested. I am keeping the Subs and the AMPs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a one of a kind setup. Serious buyers please email me luke.lorentz@gmail.com or ask questions here. Please do not fill up my inbox. Last edited by LukeL; 11-16-2009 at 05:35 AM. |

Install/Removal Pics
Here are some pictures to show how this beast fits in. Basically the whole setup is:
![]() ![]() ![]() Setup does not include Subs, Amps, Caps, and main wiring. I will leave the wires shown on the box as they are RTV'd in. There is also a Blue LED strip light mounted in the box that you can reuse if needed. Last edited by LukeL; 11-10-2009 at 06:17 AM. |

To install the setup first you need to remove the rear deck trim on the inside. Then place the box in the trunk and slide it to the front of the trunk until the face of the box meet with the inner structure for the rear seat.

Once the box is in place screw the brackets to the spare tire cover. Surprisingly the box NEVER moved. For added rigidity you could attach it to the pinch welds but man it is a tight fit.
![]() Once that is in, simply install the front trim piece by screwing the bottom of the board to the box itself and then re-nstalling the stock press plugs. ![]() ![]() After the Box and front trim is in you can attach the Amp board (Forgot to take a picture) and install the carpet (Notice the difference between the OEM liner) with some spray adhesive. ![]() |

Finally, attach the side trim pieces. Here you can see that you need a small piece of carpet to hide the wheel wells. I found that if I did not do it this way the sides would invade the trunk space too much.
![]() ![]() That's it.....it's in. Pretty simple huh? I would consider shipping this setup if someone was interested in covering shipping costs. |

They are MRP-M650s. I had not thought about selling them yet.

I checked with Greyhound and it looks like I may be able to sell this whole setup for around $400 shipped depending on location.
