burnt orange grand am gt's? whos got'em

just wondering since i havent seen many around if anybody has a sunburst i think its called orange gt? i love the color and plan to get one that color eventually to keep and do a 6 spd g6 trans swap to. post up pics if you have one love to see them

I had one (Fusion Orange is the color) but sold it this spring to someone who may or may not be on this board. (They are on gaoc.com). They have 3, yes 3 Fusion Orange GAGT's- 2 coupes and 1 sedan.

yea that is sick thats what i want 2 door, gray or black int with the sct hood chrome rims. why did you get rid of it?

how come? what was not to like? i have heard mixed reviews about it, was it the g6 or the trans itself since the grand ams pedal setup for a manual isnt the same as the g6. i heard most complaining was about the pedal arrangment being too cramped in the g6

Nope. I sold it in January of 09. Mine was an 03 GT1 with the 30th Aniversary package on it. It had like 22K on it when I sold it- mint condition.

I think I got into the G6 GTP after that... i was mostly bored with it, and the G6 was a great deal and didn't cost much more to get into than what I got for the GA.

Frankly, it's way too much gear for the car. you're basically shifting all the time-- I think I was out of first gear by like 15mph, second at 30mph, etc. Besides that, I think it was hydraulically operated, and was therefore clunky and felt very alien (although I was driving an '04 GTO at the time, too, so I had different expectations of what a manual SHOULD feel like).

I think its popularity (or lack thereof) speaks for itself, since GM nuked the transmission after only a year or two of production.

Thanks, and I have no idea... the dealership was a family friend, so I tended to get more for the cars I turned in, and pay less for the cars I bought, so my numbers aren't indicative of real market value. I'll go out on a limb and say I got something like 13k or 14k towards the trade.
