You'll find LOTS of go fast goodies and know how about that motor, and how to tinker with it. I'm a member myself over there.
Weird I didn't run across it recently, Ive seen it before but just didn't think of it.

If you can't afford big boy mods for the Grand Am, it's not like you will make use of any aftermarket motor parts for the G8 anyway. So I think your best bet is the V8, buy it with power already.
I agreed with the fact the V8 is the only way to go. After driving the GT it became obvious quick. There's nothing wrong with the V6 model. Its just doesn't pack the badass V8.

I could "afford big boy mods" for my GA but Ive been on the fence about trading for the past 4 months. And the way i see it is there's no point in following through with modding when I'm looking at other cars. The 3.4 engine has lots of potential but im not looking to drop a few grand to unleash it. As I've stated before I'm happy with my car, tired of it, but still content with it. Now that I'm leaning towards keeping the GA ill prolly invest in a few more mods.

no ....... it really doesn't. In fact, it's design is pretty terrible for any kind of legit performance.

I agree. An engine that requires 5-10K to make it 1, maybe 2 seconds faster in the 1/4 hardly "Has potential."

As far as a DD, they do just fine. I know my GA will never break any speed records, I just plan on focusing on suspension tinkering next year. I have more fun tossing my car around the backroads than going in a straight line anyway. I'd love to take my car on a road course just for the hell of it.

I dont think these cars are setup nor have easy ability to setup for twisty roads either, I know my civic, with coilovers, can handle turns way better then my lowered grandam.
And my brothers bmw is fukin awesome on the curves.

Exactly, you just have lowereing springs. My plan was just more than springs:

Eibach springs
KYB struts
Alminum control arm swap
Polyurethane bushings front and rear
Polyurethane stabilizer links
PFYC front and rear sway bars
Front and rear STB

My waste of money. I'll be happy with the outcome.

Try 3 seconds faster for 4.5K.

I have springtech springs, kyb struts, and that made a big difference from stock, however the civic has stock struts and the coil over kit no after market sways I hope those things do it for you. They cant hurt.

About 2K for an M90, last I checked, which was about a year ago. That's minus inlets and outlets, and you would have to do welding. And there are two points, here, dollars/power-percent increase, and the O/P I believe was referring to percent increase that the engine could handle.

Maybe so. You guys know more about this car than me. I'm going off of what I've seen, not what I've done or know. Getting any serious performance gains out of a slant 6 isn't practical, but a few seconds off a 1/4 mile is something. And ill be happy with another second or so. For now.

That maybe true, but lucky for us we are not driving old dodge/chrysler products with the slant 6.

I actually have seen some performance slant 6's though.
