the body and frame alone sell for over 5k and if it has full interior upwards of 10k. they are rare to be seen in a boneyard unless they are completely useless. check out supraforums.com its about your only shot.

if youre just looking to have something fun to play with, I would look elsewhere than a supra or GTO. Not only are both hard to find in decent shape, but both are very expensive to rebuild and source parts for.
I would look elsewhere, something a little off the beaten path. I, for example, am thinking about a regular cab, short bed late model pickup with a V8 that I can build out, lower, and have fun with. Silverados are a dime a dozen, so finding one and getting parts is much easier than many other vehicles people generally mod. Just my .02

I'd have to agree with this. The 5.3 liter Chevy engine is stout and you can make a good bit of power out of them. There aren't many people looking for a regular cab truck, let alone a short bed, so you could certainly find one cheaply. There's SO many aftermarket parts for them and they are cheap. Keep in mind, there's also a VERY big market for handheld truck tuners. You can plug and play in 10 minutes and add 30 hp or more. Building a pickup that can smoke a GTO or even a Corvette would be much more rewarding.

turbo'd silverados for the win... I seen a stock looking white one at track, single cab, single turbo, run 11.2. Guy said he's still on a stock motor with just an injector upgrade.

Yeah, you're looking at AT LEAST $12k for one that runs. Could have 3 bagillion miles on it and would still run you 5-figures. It's amazing that Toyota doesn't make something similar to it anymore.

Or, do what I'm doing, try to find a P71 crown vic that isn't too beat up, and slap some 2v mustang parts on it

Heavy car, but quick if built. The regular cab short bed Chevy is heavy, too though. I just think building something like that is way more interesting than doing a Corvette/Mustang/etc. Everyone and their brother has one of those. Build an 800 hp Silverado that traps at 130 mph and does the quarter mile in the 10's... now THAT'S freakin' neat.

I agree heavy, even built its got alot to over come.
And after all is said and done its still a crown vic. No handling bad balance.
