YES! I love these cars. Oddly enough, they sound mint with the same Flowmaster 80's we use for the GA's. Heard a sound clip on cardomain, sounded mean.
Nice buy, I've always wanted one in blue.

Thanks guys, Fab I picked it up close to you, glenco mn doubt I spelled it right but its about 45 mins west of the twin cities.
ya the trans were problematic, though I read that its mostly because they did not have well enough cooling on the trans fluid, external cooler and they were ok. Or and better yet, 5 or 6 speed swap. wish this one had been but it did get a complete rebuild about 3 years ago.For the moment, at this moment its in the muffler shop, it is so quiet you can not hear it. ![]() Its getting exhaust done to be louder and to have better flow.

Subie's tranny's are usually pretty reliable, it's a shame that some of their cars are also held back by them. They're still using only 4 speed autos on base model Imprezas & Foresters. If they could develop a good DSG tranny they'd probably sell more WRXs and LGTs. They could also get more power out of the 3.6L H6.

http://www.cars101.com/subaru_svx.html Pretty sure STIs are the only Subies that have a front LSD from the factory (at least in the US). They didn't call it symmetrical AWD back then, but it probably was. Not having torque steer also helps with snow traction.

If anyone is interested I got some pics today, and changed the exhaust, yes more modding.
![]() I went true dual exhaust 2" piping. I originally put 24" glass packs. Not entirely what I wanted but looked like about the only thing that would fit. I hated the sound, very high pitched raspy. Today I went back and put 2 magnaflows on in addition to the glass packs already there. It sounds much better, though quieter then I would have liked. I have a before, as in before the magnaflows. and an after vid. No stock vid or pics though. Suffice to say stock it was silent as the grave. And the Video's. First one Glass packs only

The mufflers will break in and the sound will get louder.
My Flowmaster 80 muffler was quiet at first, I almost regreted installing it, but a month later, I got the deeper and throater tone.
